This is my first post. I just bought an Ego SLs. Both of my sons had Dye Reflexes. My older son just traded his 2012 tiger lime reflex and $230. for a 2010 NT. I think I found the last owner of my SLs and I didn't realize the 5 post rule. I'd really like to find out some more history on this marker. My first marker was a BT so I made a huge jump for my second marker. The people at my local field try to push Dye markers. I'm sure there's something behind that. Anyway I watched plenty of videos and I was sold on an Ego! When I saw the SLs for sale I jumped. I paid $899. for it. There's never any for sale but looking back at some older sales I guess I paid the normal amount. Anyway the marker is great!! I didn't get the E-Portal with it. Is it worth buying? Also I think it has a Hush bolt. If anyone can recommend any tips or upgrades I should be looking for I'm taking all suggestions. Thanks!!

Egos are great guns and you won't be disappointed, as far as the dye vs egos debate, it's really a matter of personal opinion, I work at a field and I try to let people make their own decisions on what gun to shoot, but when asked I always give my honest opinion. I have never been a hug fan of spoolie guns and I know a lot of people who swear by them. As far as ups go for the Ego, the Sls are really pretty much uped out of the box. The only two upgrades you should consider since you already have a hush bolt, would be a barrel kit, I recommend the old school sly kits if you can find one, or a freak kit, there are plenty of those floating around, the kits always help with paint matching which will make a world of differene when it comes to accuracy. The other would be a virtue board, I personally am fine with the stock ego board, I did have a virtue in my 07 ego and it made an improvement. Otherwise just make sure you have a nice light tank, and a good mask and go out and play.

The Sl already comes with a barrel kit. No need to buy another one.

Ego v Dye is always a debate and it comes down to personal opinion. You and your sons will be happy with your markers. For the son that got the NT, make sure he reads the manual because NTs can be finicky.

I have pust maybe 8000rds thru the salvo and absoultly love this gun minimal ball breakage and the breaks i do have are due to crap paint and or poss the gun firing to fast due to the last time i clocked it was cold and i was running co2 and now its warmer and i am running HPA leading to more breakage

I'm looking at an 08 Vice with a .689 kaner, pillow bolt, tado m8 (with yakuza software), regular 4C eyes, and lp poppet for $450. Good or bad? Had had about 40 cases though it, but in good condition and well taken care of.
