I found a 2k5 Timmy (no barrel) local for 110 and a dye rotor +50$ offered for my 360...is this a pretty decent speedball setup? Also if I bought the Timmy what's a good barrel besides a freak or edge kit? I'm kinda on a budget....

As much as I hate to say this, because I used to, and to a point still do, hate smart parts, I've found that All Americans are EXCELLENT Barrels. Untill you get a break in them, then they shoot like trash. MacDev Matchstiks are nice, Evil Pipes if you can find them are AMAZING. I currently have a lucky unitech on my freestyle, and it shoots rather nicely, for it's age and it's design. 2 piece barrel. ANY Barrel by Deadlywind is worth checking out as well, even at the prices they ask, Deadlywind is a GREAT company.

Sounds like a rather solid price. I'd make sure it shoots, and then go from there.

Sup everyone,

Looking to get back into the game and have some fun again.

First off,

Dangerous Power G3 - $160
- 7th Element Board
- Techt Engine Bolt
- 16" Stiffi CF Barrel
- Box/Repair Kit/Etc.

Should I?

Also, I'm not looking forward to really out-shooting anyone, is it okay to pair it up with a VL Revvy? I've always liked the Revvy due to it being compact in size, so yea lol.

And finally, what type of HPA tank should I pair it up with as well. Sorry for the questions, thanks for the answers!

That is a good price considering the upgrade board and the TechT engine. with the Stiffi, that will be a very light set up. If you pass on it, PLMK as I would be up for that.

You will want a force-feed hopper, and my personal preference is a Rotor. You can outshoot a revvy with that G3.

I would go with a Ninja tank over a GA tank considering the recent upheaval in Guerrilla Air.

awesome deal buy in a heartbeat. I would look into a legit loader like a prophecy etc... any 4.5k Tank will do good I would go for a 68ci or larger.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I'll probably go ahead and pull the trigger for it. And yea, I used to have a Halo B, only thing I disliked about it was how heavy it was with the batteries in lol. But no biggy.

Once again, thanks!

Classic Cocker. Solid price. Maybe talk him down to $120, but he's more than reasonable as that's a real cocker, not a trilogy. (Don't get me started. Trilogys were designed so that they didn't have to be timed. Terrible idea.)

Jungle - Solid setup. Rotors are great. Not my cup of tea though. Prefer my Halos. Make sure that ETEK is shooting right before you get it, IE, learn how to repair, reset, and rebuild them before you take it off his hands. Most pro-shops have courses.

Marker(s)- Smart partds EOS/ backup gun Invert mini
Barrels- Freak 2 pc w/ .689 insert for EOS/ stock for Mini
Mask- Empire Events Inked w/ ninja lenses/ Invert Avatar
Hopper- Velocity/ Halo Too/ Viewloader Jr.
Tank- Pure energy 68/45 with Empire cover/ 60/45 Pure energy
Pod Pack- NXE holds 4 and a tank with countless pods.

Dont know to much about the EOS bought it from a friend not to long ago, but it is accurate as hell and i love it.

I was also wondering, is the OLED board for the mini really worth it?

Im starting to understand alot more about paintball and how paintball guns work, but i am a little fresh to the sport. Wondering what would be ?better? for anything above.

Instead of a Revvy, get the Viewloader Vlocity, it's like $33 stock on ANS, or $48 with the Dynasty Chip Upgrade (http://www.ansgear.com/ANS_Build_You...tybuildown.htm)

This way, in case you ever DO want to out-shoot people, you're already set

First post and a total noob here, please be easy. We have only played speedball once and woods once but my kids loved it. For Christmas I am getting my 15 yr daughter a pink G4 with TechT bolt, Invert Too, Ninja 50/4500, gloves, proto pants and Grills gogles. My 12 year old son will get a blue G4, TechT bolt, Invert Too, Ninja 50/4500, Proto pants, Proto Jersey, Grills gogles Empire Grind chest protector, Plante Eclipse elbo pads.

My daughter has a jersey, gloves and a large gear bag from racing motocrss so she should be taken care of there. Is there anything else that we need to get started. Is this a good set up? Feedback please.

Please include every part of the setup you want reviewed.

It might be a good point to include what you want to play with your setup (woodsball, speedball, stock class pump, and so on), and any financial limits (i.e how much you can afford to spend)

stuff like:

* Marker
* Marker upgrades
* HPA system / co2
* Barrel
* Hopper
* Goggle system

My Number 1 tip is: don't forget that you need to buy paint too.. a 3241543 bps marker won't be any good if you don't have any paint to shoot.

Please note:
This is NOT as VS thread. don't ask about which gun to buy.

If you've already bought a new setup, there isnt much point in asking if it was a good deal. If you want tips on upgrades, check out the marker specific forums.

Get some good pod packs. Having a G4, they aren't going to be holding back and are going to need to reload, especially in speedball. I would suggest an 4+5 or 3+4 pack. NXE has always been my favorite (I bet many people on here would agree with me), but Empire makes some good packs as well. Look around and see what looks god to you, but I would try to keep it as simple as possible for easy use.

When they start playing more, I would suggest getting knee pads for each of them. Some good volley ball pads will work, but invert makes some that are very affordable. The pants may have some padding on them, but it is good to have the extra support on the knees.

Last thing would be little stuff like a good tool kit with extra orings, barrel swabs and squeegies for cleaning the barrel, etc. They can share most of this, but it is good to alread be prepared. When I got into tournament, I made a small toolbox into a repair kit and take it with me everywhere. i ahev every size allen wrench, pliers, screwdrivers, adjustable hex wrenchs, orings, macrolines, gun lube and gun oil. It has saved myself and the people I bring many good days of paintballing.
