Alright, so I have been debating whether or not I should get into paintball or not for awhile.

I have a friend who I know took care of the gun offering me this setup.

It's a little over the budget but if this is a good deal it definitely wouldn't hurt to push out a little more.

what are you talking about the proto axsis are the s*** id take a pair of those over the i4s eney day and thy look cooler to but i love evreythang about that except for the geo you should get a cyborg rx or droid but rather good

Good Deal/Setup?

That ion setup is worth about 250, 100 for tank (if in hydro) 100 for the ion(maybe 125 max), and 50 (again max) for the halo. The remains is a better deal, but a definate no to the ion deal at 500 bucks. New that setup would run around 500. Used, about half that.

They are Proto Switch, not axis, they dont have the soft ears and what not. I think they are really comfy. I wouldn't mind getting a pair of i4's but they look kinda small, and I have a gigantic head.

Alright so I'm going to offer for the remains. What should I do after that. I think it would be in my budget to get the Empire Loader, Empire Goggles, and Empire Gloves. Is Empire still a really good brand, or should I maybe go a little cheaper and upgrade that marker more?

I want this to basically run as my main gun for now and well into next year atleast. I'm going to be playing a mix of speedball and woodsball at Challenge Park in Joliet. I also will check out Fox Valley Paintball. My intentions are to join a team and do some tourneys if I am good enough.

The guy broke the alien, so dont bother. Thats why its 190... it doesnt shoot. empire is still a good brand, but look into the invert halo too for a new hopper, they are cheap and will definately get the job done (60 bnib i believe) empire makes good goggles and gloves aren't a huge deal as long as you can move your fingers so you should be fine with the mask/gloves.
You'll still need a tank too.
look at the bst for another marker and even a tank. For 200 you can get-mini, sft shocker, pmr, used g3, etc. As of right now avoid that ion for 500 and that remains until its fixed (solenoid problems can be a headache)
Honestly for 300 bucks you can get a decent marker/hopper/tank in the bst.

Hello, I have never played paintball before and one of my friends use to play all the time. He stopped for a while and is thinking about getting back into it and I wanted to join him once he starts playing again. Ive taken advice from him and I have read alot on the internet on what equipment I should buy while not spending to much money.

So far I have come down too:

Gun: 2009 Proto SLG (basic) $199.99

Hopper: Halo B $79.95
Also Considering the Invert Too $59.95

Tank: Pure Energy Basics 5 Year N2 Tank - 68ci 4500psi $139.95

All Im asking is if you think this would be a good setup for me to start off with. I have read and heard alot of good things about this equipment and have heard very little bad. I know some peoples answers may be biased towards specific brands, but all I want to know is if I buy this equipment: will it will be reliable and fun to play with?

I appreciate all comments and posts.

Totally agree

For $500 you can get a used DM5/6/7, tank and a fast enough hopper to keep up!

Guy I know is wanting to sell the following to one of my friends who is just getting into the paintball scene... is it worth it? if not... What is it worth?

Tippman A5 with E-grip, Flatline Barrel and ?cyclone? feeder
Dye Throttle 91ci tank MINT condition
2 Military style pod vests with tank holder
Remote coil with slide check
6 cheap pods with camo paint-job that are in good shape

STRICTLY woodsball... to my huge disappointment... I let him use my DMC when I first bought my DM8 and we played speedball but he didn't like it... got shot too much I guess. He was like this guns not fast enough... I was like uhhh ok whatever... YOU'RE not fast enough for speedball... lol Thanks for your input!
