So i bought some next tech wax 2.0 and ive never waxed a car before so i had a question. So do you just appy, buff with the pad they gave you, then wipe off with a clean cloth? Do you need to do it in shade? I have a buffer but its not hear right now, so how hard will it be to do by hand, will it come out good?

Clean the car thoroughly and dry it.
Apply the wax in long, back and forth motions.
Let it sit for 20 minutes.
Remove with microfiber towel.
Do it in shade. Repeat process if you want real good results.

Well I'm assuming you already washed your car with a good car soap such as Meguiars gold class. I find it best to wax towards sunset for me. Just apply with the Meguiar pad and then wipe with good microfiber cloth.

well i havent washed it yet, but i was going to do it before i wax it. So do i have to buff it a lot when i put it on? how long does it normally take to wax a car?

I can spend hours waxing my car. All depends on how nice you want it to look

Takes as long as it takes you to do it. Maybe a couple hours.
You do NOT buff wax in if you're doing it by hand. You apply it the way that wind flows over the car, in long back and forth motions.
I do the same. I've never heard otherwise until now.
A wax job can take as little as 30 minutes, But if im doing it myself, I'd rather not rush.
2-3 coats, I like the let NXT set for 15 minutes, then buff off, and re-apply. It's pretty good wax for store-bought, and 2-3 applications should last a while.

Work in a shaded area out of direct sunlight.
Use the applicator recommended or provided by the manufacture. If the manufacturer does not make a recommendation, use a foam applicator pad to apply your wax.
Work on one area at a time covering 2 to 4 square feet. Some products may allow you to coat the entire car before buffing off, but most do not.
Follow the wax manufacturer's instructions on whether or not to allow the wax to dry (haze) before buffing.
Use a small amount of wax at a time, and rub it in well. If you use too much wax, you're wasting the product and your time.
If the wax residue does not buff off easily, switch to a clean wipe towel.
Apply your wax in a back-and-forth motion, not in circles. If you are creating swirls, you need to replace your applicator or towels.
and I love the Tech Wax 2.0. Honestly, the best OTC I've used. Deep, glossy finish on my car. Worlds better than the original Tech Wax.
It just says that's how to do it. It doesn't give any reasons, and is probably preference. There's nothign wrong with going in circles. In detailing, theres plenty of satisfactory ways to do the same thing.
Overall, the article is pretty good. They are pretty spot-on, although they should update the ceramic paint part.
