Arrow Luxe guided disassembly

It's a big honkin page, with some big honkin pictures, but it will answer virtually ever quesiton you have in terms of the internal arrangement and layout.
http://www.zdspb.com/tech/luxe/disassemblytour.html

There's some slick engineering going on inside this machine, and folks gottas knows what's up.

Okay, if you say that the bolt guide is hollow on the Luxe...wouldn't that use MORE air???
Making it less efficient. I guess I'll have to wait to see an actually Luxe animation, but I don't see how the Luxe can be significantly more efficient than an HE'd or Evolve'd Shocker.

Is it???

That's a good question. The answer isn't immediately evident since I haven't posted an actual diagram of the firing assembly yet....but one of the other differences between this and the previous Shockers is that the Luxe fire chamber is smaller in diameter, and thus holds less pressure. The hollowed bolt guide doesn't serve to add to the firing volume of a Shocker, but rather it compensates for the smaller firing volume that comes with the smaller Luxe dump chamber.

so im kinda confused here, the LE editions, are they the only version that uses the gas-thru-grip?

also on these LE luxes what kind of tank regulator is that? is that the Max-flow i keep hearing about? and can you take the bottle off the marker with out removing the bottle once its installed on the tank reg?

Wow, the air has to make one hell of a journey

Go thru the tank reg, thru the frame, routed into the reg, thru that to another air passage, and gets dispersed to the firing system/noid.

Shootdown?

Also, what happens if you take a bad dive and bend/break the frame?

Its a 1,600 dollar gun, yet in the hands of pro's, and well... not pro's, many people still find ways of mangleing their markers grip frame

so the internals are a refined shocker. that's still really cool, but i wanted it to be the spooppet that everyone was talking about a while ago

edit: great work on the tour btw

Shootdown from the HP supply is virtually impossible no matter what marker you're using (assuming your primary reg isn't defunct). The internal air passages have much wider diameters than macroline and are used to actually increase the available air volume, not constrict it.

If you dive and bend your frame...well you'll be in trouble no matter what gun you're using. And I will laugh at you Obviously warping the frame will cause it to leak, but that's about as dramatic as it gets.

A lot of people forget that if you double the radius of an air hole you actually increase the air flow by about 4 times. Hopefully that will compensate for the added turbulence thoughout the passages. Still it could have been done better I think.

It works perfect now, do you want it 2x perfect or something

Well not 2x perfect........I'm saying they could have at least made an effort to improve the efficiency, since it's supposed to be the mercedes of paintball guns. It's not perfect......

actually you square (^2) it.

but close enough though. Its funny, I was thinking the same exact thing when I was reading this.

Squaring it is probably more than multiplying by 4.

I say probably because (just picking 6 as a random # here) 6X4=24
but 6^2=36 (6 squared).

It would be interesting to see the math behind all this.

It all depends on how much wider it is than macroline to see how much it increases the flow by.

You're right, it should be if you double the diameter. Sorry I haven't been in school for a long long time lol.

The firing assembly is quite different, and the efficiency does indeed seem to be improved. When we were testing it at the field the tanks were only filling to 1000-psi, and we were getting several hoppers on each fill.

Now, having said that, nobody including msyelf has even released reliable efficiency findings. Let's wait until we actually prove the gun suxorz before we start arbitrarily complaining about unsolveable shoulda woulda coulda things.

Thanks, finally some real information Well done!

Is it fair to say that it's basically a shocker with gas-through-grip that is easily stripped/cleaned?

It's neat, but honestly I want to know how it stands up to changing weather conditions, how tender it is on fragile paint and of course, reliability. Beat it up some.

If you were to ask me, I'd say Luxe is to Shocker what Ego is to Intimidator.
