These events are perfect for someone coming back to the sport. The best part is the teams are about as even as you can get for a large group of random players, so you will fit right in until the rust wears off.
The real cool thing about it compared to other non-family or friend private games I have gone to, where the rules are set early on that "hey this group is beginner/intermediate/advanced etc" and you either feel bored or overmatched most of the day. During the actual on field game, players of equal skill or better yet equal attitude just end up migrating to each other and the opposing side seems to do the same.
What I mean is lets say a small part of one team wants to play really aggressive, they will somehow just end up on one side of the field and guaranteed to find that the group of aggressive players on the other team had the same idea and end up in their own gun fights. So you don't end up with guys who are super aggressive blasting the people who are there to have a relaxing yet fun time, even though everyone is on the field at the same time.
So you could start off calm, end up getting rid of the rust by lunch and find some crazy gun fights and then go back to playing calm towards the end of the day.
