Will the Luxe make a New class in paintball?
As it stands, many have quoted the Luxe to be the " luxury " gun of the Paintball world, now do you think, paintball will have 3 not 2 classes of guns, For example- most spyders/SP ion, vibes,EOS, etc..... are consider lower end; most Egos, angels, Timmys, etc....or considered the average "working man/woman's" gun. Now with this DLX gun what do you think will happen? Weigh in with your opinions or just tell me something I dont know.

Well first off, I don't think $1k+ markers like Egos are working class markers. That and the whole "luxury" thing is partly marketing.

Egos mid end? Never knew that. But really how can we say if it will create a new class of gun of up the standard for a high class gun if they arn't even available to the public(I think).

there might be a 'class' system at your local field but the reality of paintball is something different. there only divisions are between pumps, mechanical and electronic. and rarely mechanical gets any special treatment.

Everyone is so caught up in the hype of the luxe, but it really isn't that big of a deal. So it has a few *minor* innovations(quick strip bolt, magnetic eye covers, speaker). I doubt its going to shoot much, if any, better than the high end guns currently on the market.
To the guy who said mid ends are 500-1000, marqs are selling in the 4-500s, yet they are the single best shooting gun I've ever owned, out of every gun I have ever shot. Period. Price doesn't matter, quality does. We'll see how the luxe stands when it comes to that.

there are 3 classes yes, but you have it set up wrong.
There are the spyder/tippman type (100-200)
Then the mid ends, like fusions, thresholds, old pms and dms and egos (200-500)
Anything above 500 can be considered a high end, those are MArqs, nice egos, nice dms, and all shoot nearly the same as the 1800+ guns. Of course the 1800+ guns are lighter and more refined but i dont believe that seperates them as much as you think.
The luxe will merely be in the range of sl74s and such and will be considered the most expensive of these high ends but not a high end of its own

i dont think it will change anything i have a EGO6 and love it. i dont buy guns for there price like ppl usually do. a gun that isnt $700+ doesnt mean its a bad gun. my ego6 isnt a bad gun at all. its all about what you preference is in a gun.

People...he wasn't saying Egos are working class markers. He was bringing up the idea of things ending like that in a while.

im sick and tired of this nonsense. dose it relay matter what gun some one shoots or dosnt shoot? dose it matter how much someone spends or dosnt spend on a gun? think of this the gun is as good as the person shooting it period. i shoot a autococker pump and ball with the turny guys and hold my own. i geuss i got off the question but that was bothering me.

to me it seems 05/06 markers in the $400-600 would be the "working man/womans" marker and 07/08 year markers in the $800 up would be professional grade markers.

Im not professional. But I do have one of those guns. Personally, my 05 ego shot just as well as the 08 I tried out for a good 3 or 4 hours today. Owning 28 guns in the past 5 years, I've smarten'd up to realize that if it shoots paint straight, is consistent, can get at least 15 bps out of it stock, be reliable and all that other good stuff, its a gun. They all do it to an extent. I would never waste as much money as the MSRP for the LUXE...ever
A premier design that high doesn't deserve that I don't think.

Professionally/military equiped firearms might be considered a special class of their own...but they still kill people the same as other consumer fire arms. It can be somewhat comparable to paintball guns. Yeah they are different classes of firearms, but it's really how the person uses it.

it wont be anything more than a ripple in the water
Many people refuse to buy above 1k on markers, i am one of them
some people will buy it, a majority wont, World cup 2008, companys will release their new "09 markers" and resale will tank slightly as always
the beat goes on.
