Bringing this to your attention

Alright

i had a talk with Glen and he brought this to my attention ... not sure if it is truly a source of chopping problems but here it goes

think of this picture (as crappy as it is) as a top down view of the feedneck off of the gun

the part the arrow points to is what your feedneck would look like if you have the bottom collar (the one attaching the feedneck to the body of the gun) tightened too tight

this edge ... if showing ... is sharp and may cause chopping issues with soft or brittle paint

a quick fix is to just take a round file to the top edge to even that edge off a bit

glen is modding the ones he has in stock

so i would assume the ones that come in the color kits would be "fixed"?

dont know for sure .... and you guys have to realize that this may not even be a cause for chopping ... its just something he noticed

Ahh I see.

Maybe im just lucky or something but I never chopped a ball until I upgraded to the pillow bolt.I also believe that the ball broke when hitting the bottom of the breech. It just didn't look like a normal chop to me.I have been shooting my legend for about 4 months now every weekend and no chops

My thoughts of the chops is 1 of the 3 problems.1 low batteries in the gun.2 bad detents.3 To high of force on the hopper with brittle paint. The legend does have a rather long drop from feedneck to breech in my eyes.

its no longer than any other gun really

but as for you chopping with the soft face

did you change out your bumper o ring when you switched bolts?

its very important that you did

i find the importance of changing those orings not really too important
I shot my 2 legends every weekend for a couple months, constantly switched out bolts, without changing the orings, and never chopped.

some get luckier than others ... in your case thats great

but glen (and to an extent I) have been finding many other people who chop consistantly without the new bumper o ring

do you think that would work vice versa? maybe the new o-ring causes some softface bolts to chop?

this is bringing a dead thread back, but i may have this problem...is this edge cutting the ball before it gets into the breach then the bolt/air is destroying it?
