GMDT - General Music Discussion Thread.
I didn't see one of these at all, and I thought it'd be a nice touch for all those little questions people ask.
instead of posting a thread for a single response that will answer your question - post in in here.
Keep it mature, guys.

Each of the respective genre threads are their own mini GDT.
This will turn into a flame-fest eventually.

I enjoy blue grass and stuff like that.
the harmonies and everything are very complicated and take a lot of talent. I personally like fingerpicking when I play guitar and I started playing, I played bluegrass. it's actually really pretty music.
listen to "trailways" by "Red House Painters". it may not be blue grass exactly, but the fingerpicking in the song is very blue grass like.

I love bluegrass/jamband bluegrass. I really enjoy yonder mountain string band(although i don't like it with a drummer that much), Rail Road Earth, Hot Buttered Rum, Leftover Salmon.

I like Bela Fleck and the Flecktones if that counts for bluesgrass.

Bluegrass is legit. As much as it seems a bastardization of the genre, I'd really like to see some more urban bluegrass/blues-ish songwriters emerge.

Alvarez classical acoustic
ibanez RG (two EMGs, no Floyed)
Jackson flying V (not sure about pickups, floyed rose. 21 fret)
I can't decide. I'm leaning towards the alvarez acoustic.

It was not a comment it was two questions, and thanks for the insults and the flaming but I was looking for more responses like the last two sentences in your post I just quoted, as well as the Quotes posted below this.
