You kind of just listed markers under $400 and markers over $400.

I would say that for the price you cannot beat an Ion or a PMR. A used DM6/PM7/Ego are fairly cheap as well.

if you are fairly new to the sport stay away from ions they are nothing but trouble i would say your best bet is a rail or possibly the slg if you dont want a spoolie get a used timmy fusion maybe even a wrath

You may want to divide the list up a bit more. From working in a paintball shop I know that to your average first time buyer there is a HUGE difference between $100 and $300. Plus you need to consider neccesary accessories. Sure you can pick up a PMR for $250, but it's a rather expensive paper weight with out the $175 4500psi HPA system and a $125 forcefeed hopper.

Obviously you are an extremely biased individual. Ions are greeat entry level guns, as long as you don't **** with them all the time. It's the same with every gun. If you **** with them all the time, you will have problems if you don't know what you're doing. Ions are extremely reliable. I had one when they first came out and never had a single problem with it.

Nothing wrong with Ions except their maintenance but I'd rather get a Fusion for that price. Fusions are MUCH easier to maintain.

You can get a used high end setup for tank and all for less than if not right at 300... Older models such at 2k4 timmy's/05 ego's/pm5/dm5/borg's etc... Ion's feel like they have concrete inside of them...
