Question Thinking of getting a scope?

I am planning on making my tippmann 98 custom into a sniper gun, I found scopes on ebay for pretty cheap. Any advice?

Scopes are useless in PB...the ball doesn't fly farenough or straight enough to justify a scope...if anything, a red dot would be the best optic for finding your target, but still pretty useless...just learn to aim down the barrel. And take the sniper part out...it'll just cause problems...

i wouldnt bother with a scope. especially one with magnification. if ur shootign logn range the ball will drop out of the line of sight looking down the scope. your iron sights would work better and practice on adjustign for distance

No...at shorter distances you could just AIM DOWN THE BARREL. If you weren't aware, a scope is for longer distance shooting.....

not relaly to good. i mean one there zoom on the one ur looking for so you wouldnt have too much of a view. also when your close range you can just use iron sight on your gun. i mean with paint flying around and you trying to take cover it could be very difficult to get a good look down the scope. your best bet is just learn to aim down the side of the barrel or use the iron sights. and dont forget when u shoot u can see ur paintballs so you can see where ur shooting and adjust from there

I just aim down the barrel...if I hit too short, I poin the gun up...too far, aim down...it's just easier.

Yeh, and if you do get a scope/optic, you will be ruined if you ever get another gun, as almost all guns except Tippmanns) are centerfed, so you will be FORCED to aim down the barrel...

if at most, get a lazer sight, you also have to put in mind, they you might not be able to aim with your mask on

i stil think the best thing is just to learn by using the sid eof the barrel or using the iron sights on it

yeah a red dot would be the MOST i would put. but magnification has no purpose cause it isnt accurate out to a long distace

Red Dot's are good for two reasons...some have a dif. color, so darker places are slightly easier to see, and it's quicker to find opponents and get the gun in the GENERAL direction. If you REALLY want some sort of optic, red dot is teh way...but I'll tell you now, if I play you, I'm aiming for it...
