I finally got to shoot some paint with my G3 today. Even with poor weather
and paint, I was VERY impressed. It was around 30F outside (snowing during
the vid, but you cannot see it). The paint I was using was WalMart paint
purchased 2-3 months ago and probably sitting on the shelf 3 months before
that due to MN winters. I did have a couple barrel breaks, but no chops.
The first thing I noticed was that the kick is next to nothing, lowest kick of
any gun i've shot (even matrixes). Noticeably less than the Threshold and
way less than the Fusion/F8. Compare barrel rise/wobble in these vids to any
of my older vids. Usually when the hopper starts to run out you can see the
barrel wobbling around. None of that with this gun. Felt like nothing in my
The speed was as good as to be expected. My hopper must have been
running low on batteries. It's a stock Halo B and did ~20BPS in these vids.
I've had it 22-24BPS with my other DP guns (I'm sure this was due to low
The sound signature of this gun was great. Even with the stock barrel it is
super quiet. No more loud popping like with the Threshold. I threw the Redz
barrel on for one of the ramping vid, and it's even quieter (but hard to tell in
the vid). The stock barrel is definitely something you could use every day, as
long as your paint fits.
I also did a little consistency vid: 296 290 278 297 292 293 292 Out of the
box (no break in, did adjust the reg) with crappy paint. In my mind, those
numbers are AMAZING. The reg has no break in and is already +/-3 (if you
throw out the outlier).
I heard us military has them and some other stores. It was just released so some stores have em and some don't. Just go to a search engine and search for that us military store or hit up froogle . com and search for "g3 dangerous power" I heard the price is about $430.00 also.
