Eye pipe modding..

I understand and can handle the boring part of the process to fit the eye pipe.. But how would you go about milling the sides out to fit the extruded part for the detents? Is that more of some kind of keying process? I'm honestly thinking a DM7/PM8 pipe would make it a simpler process and just use the stock detents.

Thanks in advance for any helpful posts.

Boss Paintball does it. talk to them maybe? other wise what do you mean about the extruded detents? the eye pipe on DMs is smooth on the outside? and it might be smarter to use a new model eye pipe.

Take a look at eye pipes and then reply..

As far as ease, the dm7 eye pipe would be easiest.. that is IF the detent holes line up externally

As far as how to mill for newer style eye pipes i would ask cs900 or resident machinest or thorpydo who works for dye

Yeah I'm thinking DM7 pipe would be the way to go to dodge the NT detent stuff...

Thanks for the tips on who to ask.. Didn't think about asking cs900 his thoughts and didn't know about the other two.

I guess I could use a small OD endmill (but rather long, which would lead to deflection), like a 1/8" or something, but with the NT pipe those detent slots on the side also locate that pipe in place. So there needs to be the distinct cut for it, not just run an endmill down and have rounded edges that might lead to some slight rotation of the eye pipe.
