Living Legends game for 2009 @ CPX (poll)
We are looking at a few months we would like to look for next year and hopefully we will announce the date for 2009 at the event in 2008. Please choose the month you would like to have it in. I am just curious what the general public things and would like to know their opinion. Obviosuly there are conflicts with other large games as well, which are noted.
April - This is the month we are doing it for 2008
May - This is what I want, Memorial Day Weekend so it gives everyone time to recover
June - There is Oklahoma D-Day
July - There is Invasion of Normandy
August - There is EMR's Paintball Extravagaza Labor Day Weekend
September - Tippmann World Challenge
October - This month just sucks to do an event due to NPPL, SPPL, PSP, and Millenium Final Events

i think may on memorial day weekend would be best although travel is bound to be a little more expensive its prob the easiest as far as time off work/school on top of that extra day most people will have to recover
i know its going to kill me getting into my dorm around 1am after a weekend of going all out on the PB field then waking up for my 8am class

Yeah... I do not have that problem.. Just work. I was thinking we could do a big party somewhere after the game on Sunday and everyone fly back on Monday for next year.

I agree about having the monday off, it makes things SOOOO much easier, you don't have to rush back home, you hang out with new/old friends and just relax after the game.....

I like June better than May. May is already completely swamped with other games, many of them put on by fields with teams that are obligated to be at that game. June slows down a lot.

Stay away from whenever the NASCAR or Indy Series will be. You will not find any hotel rooms or getting here will be hell too.

I said July, as most of the people that go to IoN will not go to this game. So no real conflicts for the majority of teams.

I prefer Memorial day weekend. Travel will rise a bit, but that extra day to party and recover is worth it.

June would be a drag because you'd lose of alot of teams because of D-day. Depending on when they schedule D-day for next year, memorial day could take away a lot of players too if it's too close to it.
You'd also have to contend with Indy memorial day weekend. Travel would be hellish at best for that area I'm sure.
I'd say leave it in April because while it may be tougher to deal with school, it's far enough away from most of the regular major events to not limit players form all over the country. I know I couldn't afford airfare twice in one month to get out to the midwest from upstate NY.

I voted july because ION doesn't draw the same demographic as this game does. While we may all think memorial day would be sweet because it is elsewhere I highly doubt it would be in the area where CPX is held.
This is coming from someone making the 618 mile drive from upstate NY.

The only problem with July is that it can be extremely hot in Chicago, and humid.

Well, after checking into the races thing brought up... getting a hotel room in Joliet in June or July will be like trying to find a hooker in Salt Lake City.
