Highway patrols will also put K band drones behind those giant digital displays on the highway like these, which emit a constant K band signal to warn drivers of a construction zone, or to simply slow people with radar detectors down.

These are what the drones look like:

In any instance, all radar detectors will alert to these types of falses.

Yeah and those damn things that tell what your speed is emit the ****ing most annoying frequency.

Around here in BFE, I mostly see Ka, have not seen a SINGLE laser (but did in Houston, I know I can detect it), but have seen a few K and one single X cop. Therefore, I keep them all on. Besides, as I said, driving through town I will get one false alert and my daily drive only has one, slight X give away. Not enough to justify the 9500.

I'm just going off personal experience. I didn't like the V1, it falsed constantly. The 9500 did not false once and found all three cops perfectly.

which? V1 I had for a couple months, 9500 I don't have yet. Friend has it, I put a few hundred miles on his car with it. Also have driven with him on many cruises and its always worked pretty well for him. He has gotten pulled over once for speeding, but I am not sure if the cop was using radar, laser, or just saw him.

I'm still on the search for a good one to invest on. The most complaints about radars is the fake or sensitivity of picking up fake readings. And the Gps technology realy cut it down. Read that if you pass by the same place 3 times and get the same reading it will automatically take it out as a fake reading. (9500ci + ix)

It's a great tool if people in your area use it (which tends to be the case more often than not in the early stages of an application). Otherwise, it's completely worthless and a waste of money.

Just get whatever you want dude. So let's say the V1 is better, the X50 is plug and play. Same with 9500, but you have to register and all to get the full effects of the 9500. The V1, the one fellow swears by, is better. But it also requires some installation ****.

IMO, based on seeing you post, you're better off not speeding.

The v1 has many false readings because of its sensitivity. One chick at work even told me that it would pick up even other people with radars. Does it have a mute button? I do not feel like being scared every time it goes off and the one time I think its a false reading then there is the cop (cry wolf).. don't want to turn some bands off, what if there is a cop that is using the old school **** to catch people

What are you talking about? . Every radar windshield mount radar detector is plug and play. The only detectors that are not plug and play are remote installed detectors like the Stir, Stir +, and the 9500ci. If it mounts to the windshield, it's plug and play. That I assure you.

You're first mistake is you're talking to a woman about electronics. Secondly, would you rather sensitivity or a ticket? I'm telling you, you will be able to distingush a real threat from a false. False's happen around stores that have automatic door openers (CVS, Walgreens, Banks, Grocery stores) and that's pretty much it. Audi's, infiniti's and mercedes have K band lane assits too, but every detector will false on those.

Every single radar detector on the market has a mute button. You seem very uneducated about radar detectors and how radar works. My advice to you is to do some research before on how radar works before you by a detector and before you start actually speeding. The #1 reason people get tickets is because they neglect that radar detectors are tools. Every tool has it's purpose and if you don't know how to use a tool for it's purpose, you shouldn't be using it. People buy 40$ cobras at walmart because they can't justify spending 400$ on a detector that will "do the same thing", right? Wrong.

I forget you can mount that with a usual windshield mount. I think every single time I've ever seen one it was hard mounted somewhere.

My apologies.

I understand that. However, many of the questions you are asking have been answered or can be answered by reading this whole entire thread.

The first post of this thread answers all of these questions.

If you simply click on the links and do some reading, you wouldn't be asking these questions.

I use it, its very cool, requires others to use it to get the most out of it, but you will be surprised how many others use it.

9500 is the only choice IMO. I did a lot of research, and was looking at the V1, but after many reviews, I chose the 9500. Couldnt be happier. Had an 8500 x50 (its for sale) before the 9500.

I live in new zealand. and have used many radar detectors. bel rx65 professional' valentine v1.8, uniden gps2000, escort 8500 euro, and currently use escort 9500ix international. in here polise use lasers guns, ka band and k band speed camera vans. escort 8500 euro with k pulse for future would do a great job for the money.

Getting other reviews from people that have them is the reason i ask the question. The first posts are old. New technology come out every few months, like the new smart phone app direct connect that cost $100. Just answer my questions and stop complaining untill I buy my escort.

dont know if i should get a 9500 ix or ci

Yes, new technology comes out. And getting reviews is the best way to decide on a purchase. But how radar works will never change. If you read the article in very first post, you would understand why getting falses in inevitable with every radar detector, though you continued to beat a dead horse.

You just said you wanted to spend 400$ on a detector. The 9500ci is a 1,700$
This is my point exactly. Clearly, you haven't done any research because you'd realize that the 9500ci is more than 3x more than what you want to spend. Never mind the fact that it's a completely different kind of radar detector.
