I think it's worth the extra money for the Fiesta given its far lower mileage and general likelihood of being more reliable.

I've done a lot of research into the Fiesta and it seems like they are generally unreliable, still looking for more opinions. The big issue is with the automatic transmission, but I've seen people complaining about leaks with the manual as well. The year/price combo is definitely attractive though.

none of those, save your money or end up dumping another $2000 into any one of those easily.

the terms "has to be 4 door and a manual" are the two most contradictory things about cars

either get a nice clean 4 door that is reliable and automatic or a manual toy you expect to beat on (whole reason you want a manual right is to "have fun") and be ready to shell out some cash

I don't think I would ever buy a car that has over 75k on it.

Acura cl type s. Or Acura tl. Both kind of hard to find with manuals. They are both solid cars with relatively cheap parts. Pretty easy to find an e46 or e36 bmw with a straight drive around where I live at the high end of your price range.
Just throwing some extra options out there .

Ticking time bomb.
Detonation is also imminent.
Meh.
The fuse is about to be lit.
Why would you want a car that doesn't run?

Find an Elantra that is more reasonable. You could probably find a 2012 or something with under 100K miles for that money.

It's a possibility. If it's a S10 etc, still one.
