Obama is not pro-gun plain and simple, he may leave it up to states but if a gun issue passes by his desk he will vote for restrictions.

* 2000: cosponsored bill to limit purchases to 1 gun per month. (Oct 2007)
-god forbid you will need a new rifle every 2 weeks Mabye i go to a gun show and see two guns i like and have been shearching for both for years, or i want to go hunting and i have no firearms, here in colorado you will obviously have your rifle for deer, but due to the rare but dangrous meat eating animals you need a pistol to deffend your self.
* Stop unscrupulous gun dealers dumping guns in cities. (Jul 2007)
-soo...dont let glock stock tons of their product everywhere in places than tend to have a high number of robberies in which the guns can be stolen
Like someone else said if a company intentionally has a warehouse in an area that has a lot of crime, and guns get stolen the company losses money.
* Keep guns out of inner cities--but also problem of morality. (Oct 2006)
To be honest i dont even understand this one, its not hard to take the bus 1 town over to get a gun... Basicly its stupid and it bans guns in the "cities" or where many people live
* Ban semi-automatics, and more possession restrictions. (Jul 1998)
This was for Chicago, not the US
* Voted NO on prohibiting lawsuits against gun manufacturers. (Jul 2005)
hold corportations accountable, not a bad idea either Hmmm... so if someone threatens you on the internet, you can sue the person and the company that made the computer, for allowing a person to threaten you? no it doesn't make much sence and is very stupid. The use of a product either the right way or the wrong way is not something a company can or should control its up to the person to use a product the right way. This applies to anything and everything made by a person, someone could take a steak nife and kill multiple people with it, so does that mean that the company should be sued for making a nife that can kill humans?
Gun control is a joke, its like saying we should out law cars because people are stupid and get killed because people double triple and quadriple task all while driving 75 mph 2 feet away from a 30 ton semi. Almost every law known to man is there to protect stupid people, like murder is against the law the average person that has a little bit of common sence would no that it isn't right. The billions of dollars a year spent on out lawing the gun could be spent on finding the criminals and slowing down the improper use of a tool.

No, I just don't really care about this issue either way, both sides have fairly decent cases on their sides.

If McCain questions Obama on his views of gun control and Obama is for gun control, I am not ****ing voting for him. It's unconstitutional to enact gun control. Look at Canada. They've had an extremely high increase in gun crimes since their gun control acts went into place.

The 2nd Amendment IS gun control.

I'll be the first to defend the right to bear arms, but somewhere along the line, a medium must be met to maintain safety. Context to the situation is critical. Let's not get lost on the issue here folks...

But if other people, untrained in firearms or defending themselves with them, had them at those schools none of those shootings would have happened. Its the hippy liberals fault.

Do you happen to remember the numerous school shootings that occurred in Canada these past years?

Um, no? That was a dumb reason to say you need an assault rifle to protect yourself. If someone tries to rob you just protect yourself with a pistol like most other people with a CCW permit do, you dont have to be a moron about it.

Im just hoping you were kidding.

There's a reason why the Second Amenment doesn't discriminate against where, or what types of 'arms' you can 'bear', because it honestly is irrelevant.

Maybe people just like to go to the range and fire off a few rounds. Nothing wrong with that.

edit: lets not forget about those assault handguns, and shotguns.

Yeah, I agree, Im just saying that Obama's liberal gun stances were voted on issues effecting Chicago. His recent ones have been more moderate and he'll leave it up to the states. I doubt it would create a problem. I have no problem with people owning most types of guns, even ARs for people going to the range, it's just if you let the normal law abiding citizen have one you run the risk of having criminals get them too, sadly.

licence to kill: I thought so just making sure lol. Though I was in LA this weekend for HB and felt the same way about the traffic.
