"Due to our close proximity of our selected tournament date to that of the NPPL HB event, we have decided to postpone the first SPLAT APT of the season as a large # of teams that otherwise would be attending are unable to due to numerous issues that come from our event being schedule one week after HB. Sorry for the inconveinence, please watch the official website for annoucement of the new date."

I received a phone call from Tony at splat and YES, event #1 has been postponed to another date. He said that details will be posted on the Sapt web site as soon as possible. Tony said that they are looking into a few different options to help attract more teams and bigger sponsors.

Yes it is true.. To close to HB for most teams.... hopefully they make it a stand alone event with bigger prizes and massive coverage in the magazine.

its so dumb. me and my team were all pumped and have been practicing for this event. Everyone based there schedule around this, but now its all f'ed up. should have promoted it better

i feel u HB, our team did the same thing, they better make the event really good, or get my money back too me in the mean time, cuz id like to register for riot...(ironically i voted to go to riot first but my captain and fellow teamates did not) whatever...

Any one have any idea what they changed the date to...Im gonna be pissed if they make it more than like 2-3 weeks.

Im guessing they had to change it due to the fact it was too close to HB NPPL and teams were not going to be able to make it due to financial reasons. NPPL does take a lot of money out of a team's bank account and to hold a tournament the weekend after wouldn't bring teams in. The postponding of the tournament is for a good reason so more teams show up and make the prize even bigger. Stay tuned for the updated website!
