Not really, that would be perfectly possable to run unregualted(after the HPR)
However with all that empty space in the gun, I see a lot of possablity for shootdown.

that design is very interesting. reminds me of a dm style bolt with a huge QEV in the center. genius.

Its the pbn user name of the guy who made the animation, that was made from a patent we in the shocker forum found. As stated its incorrect and that isn't even the correct or final animation of that design. There shouldn't be any air coming in from under the fire chamber.

As for the floating seal, it kinda looks like a giant QEV basically. Let's the air flow in to the dump chamber. When the bolt is moved forward, the air pressure behind it is released, the seal is pushed back and the air comes out to fire the ball.

I can see that lowering the efficiency of the marker. There's sure to be a portion of air lost during the time it takes to close...

just my two cents - there seems to be alot of o-rings and alot of exhaust ports.
I'm sure its worth that fact that all that fits in such a small space, and inline too.

Meh, I bet it'd seal pretty quick. It's irrelevant in either case since that's not an accurate animation.

yeah i dont think its real..... i dont think anyone would spend the money for R&D on such a seemingly ineffecient design....let alone put it into production

I believe this was for the Smart Parts gun that they were working on, not the DLX gun...
Read a few of the last pages of the "new 2008 shocker??" thread in the shocker forum. You'll get a hint of what went on.

I am, and while that isn't the DLX, I think it's a freaking cool concept. One of the big improvements in good aftermarket bolts is how rapidly a spool can go from no flow to venting the pressure, and closing off that pressure when necessary. A big *** QEV should handle that nicely.

i see a problem with this design, behind the bolt,(before the ram part) assuming some air is going to leak around the oring when the bolt is in motion, they need to have some sort of vent in there. or the bolt is just going to lock forward.
dang, i think ima make this in my machining class, its simple as hell.

It could just vent out the same way it went in...right?
Also, is the SFT o-ring really necessary?
