It was a thread on the same topic of this thread but I know how people despise 4chan.

I wanted to install T2 again, but I can't find my key. I had 2 Fileplanet accounts and I'm sure the key is in my old one but I can't remember the login so I'm S.O.L.

It's not pirates killing the industry. It's the fact that PC hardware is advancing so quickly that people can't keep up. So they're going to consoles which have a multi-year lifespan on a SINGLE hardware/software configuration so they can optimize their software for that single configuration w/o having to deal with 3rd party extras and the thousands of configurations.

Basically. Console gaming becoming so powerful (in userbase, and hardware) is killing the PC gaming industry (minus MMO's). Not just piracy since most pirated games don't work online, and only a fraction use 3rd party services.

Freeware and Free Re-Distributed games are games place on the internet with no intent on making money from them. Either they were games made just for the **** of it, or they are older games, re-released on the internet in downloadable form as a promotion for a newer game.

They're free, they're legal, there is no piracy in them.

Leave.

Me too. XBL basically gave consoles the kickstart they needed to really play in the "hardcore gamer" arena. It wasn't just 4 player co-op split screen with friends at your house. It had full support to play like a PC.

The XB360, and now PS3, are the icing on the cake. Now we have this great online setup (LIVE, and the PSN is getting better) and the hardware to play games that look phenominal since they're coded for a single hardware/software configuration so companies can take advantage of little things and make it still shine.

PC gaming isn't going to die anytime soon... but we'll see a lot more MMO support since that is where PC gaming really shines still to the "general" gaming public. Crazy new generation graphics stuff will still probably debut on the PC, but since it requires such high requirements you wont see it being as big as it used to be.

Digi I really do love you.

I completely agree..the 360 did a great job at pulling in all the hardcore gamers - even the PC players. 2 of my close friends exclusively played PC with me for years, that was until I got my xbox. Both of them got a 360 and they play it every day. Not only that, but the game quality this generation is astounding. Consoles are the "new pc" you could say. It will take something great to pull in the console crowd towards the PC market. I almost feel as if the PC has taken a step back.

but hey....back to those free games!

I know right?

"Normal" people just can't seem to grasp the idea of a mouse. IMO it takes more skill to use a mouse than a controller.

I think it takes far more skill to use a controller than a mouse.

But... on that same line I think it takes more skill to use a keyboard than a controller for movement. The mouse is much more accurate to small movements than a controller since you have a much easier "point a to point b" flow to it.

Movement though is harder on the keyboard, from a skill perspective, since you're using keys that don't have sensitive presses so up is just straight forward, instead of having a degree of forward that the analog stick on a controller offers.

Anyhow. We could discuss this stuff pretty easily. Make another thread if that's the case. Let's keep it on free games.

SHOT-ONLINE is fun. It's online, but hey... I like golf.
