Angry Crossfire and SP ASA

I just bought a new Crossfire tank this weekend and noticed when I removed the tank from the stock Smart Parts ASA it had metal flakes in the ASA threads. Anyone else run into this?

Yeah my threads are almost shot too.

That happend to me when I first got it. and its getting worse. i'm just going to get a cp asa or something. My tanks are fine, however the last thread on one of my tanks (thread closest to bottle ) is quite burred now i have to de burr it.

It seems this happens because at about 3/4 of the way in you are screwing it in against the pressure in the tank. I guess something has to give.

Correct me if i'm wrong.

That sucks! I didn't have an issue with the my 3000 PSI Pure Energy tank. I wonder what the difference is...threads on the Crossfire REG? Of course the crossfire is a 4500 PSI tank I wonder if that makes a difference.

I didn't have any issues with the Pure Energy tank. I really want to keep everything Smart Parts brand.

I just found a thread where Sean from Smart Parts suggested a little grease on the reg threads. I'm going to give it a shot.

I've got a Crossfire 4500 and have the same problem. I don't know if it the ASA or the tank that is causing the problems.

I tried the grease, along time ago. Although it did help a little, I just replaced my asa with a CP mini......smooth as butter.

It's the ASA, not the tank... SP ASA's have had these issues for a while

it really doesnt make sense why smart parts wouldnt just make there asa better, but whatever. Even the ion asa is better than there on/off.
your going to have to either lube the tank every time u put it on or get a new asa.
