Exclamation whats the heck is WGP doing??????

so, all there newer markers are starting to look like well, normal markers. whatever happend to the back-block, and front block? now they have open bolt and well, just regular front regulators. is this just some kind of temporary stage to appeal to more players, or is it permanent? if so, we will all remember the jeff orr series as one of the last true autocockers.

The new SR functions just like any other cocker. It just has a more streamlined look, and a Tadao board. They used a midblock design because it cuts down on reciprocating mass, which reduces kick, as well as overall weight. Personally, I think it's a step in the right direction, though I don't really dig the looks of the SR. My custom cocker outperforms it anyway.

WGP's other guns are not autocockers, they are cheap blowbacks. One of them might be a spool valve, but I'm not sure - they look cheap to me.

They realized that people are trending towards pneumatic paintball guns...and I don't think they have much any way of coping with that.

They don't have real pnematic Cockers...and the guy who owns the patent for the design mechanism to make them pneumatic got scammed by his business partners.

So *poo* is really blowing up for them.

EDIT: I mean't *ELECTROPNEMATIC* not pnematic...ugh.

Agreed.

The Autococker is a pneumatic marker. Hard to believe that you own one.

People don't like Autocockers anymore, so WGP sold out and now they're making cheap EP and blowback markers.

the autococker days will still linger on, but only faintly
(like AGD, and AKA guns)

Its old techology, simple as that.

They are going to the side of the market that sells. Face it, regular style markers sell better. Not saying that they are better/worse, just stating the facts.

Just so you know, the Mtx MQ2 valve makes a cocker fully electro-pneumatic. Performance is right up there with a DM8. In addition, Tadao is coming out with a Yakuza board for Ebladed cockers - complete with the "showoff" modes that other high end guns have had for a few years.

Although cockers have such a bad repution with the ever-ignorant general public, there is probably nothing WGP could do now to change that.

After 04, WGP made nothing worth my time. The Trilogies were junk, the select fire frames were lame. Their new gun designs aren't appealing at all. I miss the classic autococker. They weren't inferior in preformance, but just needed some kinks worked out. A couple things here and there, you've got an amazing marker. Most people built their own and made those amazing markers.

Parts like the MQ valve and race frames were a step in the right path. MQ's became a pain to find and needed some thought to install, race frames were still mad pricey.

WGP didn't keep up with progress, they downgraded thier product line instead of spending some time to realize what players wanted. The Karnivor was the closest thing I saw to progress, they made their guns too exspensive with not enough punch, the Ego came out and redifined how markers should operate. Reliability and ease of maintainance became a strong selling point. The Karnivor didn't have that. A Tadao/Virtue board a few years ago would have gone far.

ive got my classic fishbone, thats all i need. Cockers arent dead, i got my friend into the sport a while ago and he finally decided to buy a gun, and he picked an old cocker. we got him a gx3 and he loves it.

The thing is even people at proshops look at you funny when you say you WANT a cocker. We went in there and looked at a few and they practically laughed at us because he wanted to buy a cocker, like we were retarded. The new gen just want an electro, who wants to think about pulling a trigger and not short stroking, when you could just have a trigger thats like a mouse click.

No one really makes a quality oldschool one anymore, most shops don't even bother carry one. My shops had 1-2 of the newer ones, just about everyone was turned off by them.

I know that's what I was referencing to. But the Mtx MQ2 valves are no longer made, and the guy who made them got f'ed by his partners who stole all his stuff. And any that are on the market are expensive.

I honestly don't know a ton about that valve, but I don't see why WGP didn't contact the guy with the patent and just buy the patent from him and put it into their markers. Like I said, I don't know a ton about the valve, so maybe this wouldn't have been practical or something.

They make the mQ2 valve now, IIRC it retails for $125. The original mQ isn't being made though. You can buy the new one here.

http://www.mqvalve.com/zencart/index...roducts_id=180

Compulsive Paintball and Moody Paintball are selling them too.

Damn dude, you need to get with the times, haha.
