I had 12" of 1.125" round delrin stock that was lost during a move, along with other stock. I just need to get around to buying it again. I'll have to check ebay. I've actually never had reason to buy anything off of ebay, but I may start for stuff like this. Thanks for the advice.

It's pretty good stuff and you can order it to size from what I can tell. I needed a full 1", but it could have been under by a little and I would have been fine. It came .003" over, ask the seller before hand if you absolutely need it to be over, or just go a size up. I got mine from a seller 'morethantubes' in their store, got here in three days. I must admit I was nervous getting material on there, but I got aluminum stock and the delrin rod at great prices IMO... hope that helps you out a bit.

I cant wait til the end of summer to see this. I cant remember exactly if you said you were going to sell the design to a major company or not. If so who do you think you would sell it to, highest bidder? Just don't sell it to sp and ill be happy. Keep up the good work Ri0T. thanks

Steve

There's presently no way to know if this will ever become anything noteworthy. There are a few companies I'd like to work with, if it performs anywhere near the level I believe it can, none of those companies currently have a gun on the market. Hopefully I'll come home with a loader shell from NPPL HB on Saturday. Someone's bound to break one.

Of course, but I've got to make it work first, then push the perfomance as far as I can, then prove it with video to see if any companies are interested in crushing the ROF with paint record, then I'll patent it before I let people know exactly how it works.

I would patent it after you know it works, then show the videos.

look out for smart parts, i hear they have a gun coming out exactly like this. (P.S by coincidence it has the gas thru grip that they indubitably thought of first)

At the least, don't reveal too much in the thread and let someone else figure out what your doing.

I'm not worried about people figuring it out too much. It'd be pretty damn difficult to figure out the valve I've designed, and I'm not certain any company would care about the "bolt system" until I prove that it works.

That'll be it. Hopefully, I'll have the order for that one machined part sent off by mid-May. I can probably do some testing after I make 3 simple parts using current stock. If so, I'll update the first post.
subscribing

Also, I'm not sure what you need for your part, but if it's something that can be made on a 3 axis CNC, let me know. If it's a small-ish part, and you pay for the stock, i'll be happy to rip one out for you.

I do see what youre getting at with your design.
I kind of thought of that earlier when i saw your thread.
Ive only seen renders of something somewhat similar. (completely different though)

Does that exclude me? 0_o

No. If I could afford to give out prizes, I'd be posting a video of the finished project shooting paint at ungodly speeds.

looks like you've effectively eliminated 2" of height of the setup of a normal marker. That alone is pretty cool. Looking forward to more updates.
