An interesting tidbit of information...

Even with the added weight of the front block, which ideally won't stay there, and the ram mount, which can be removed with a different drive system, the weight without tank or barrel, but with the loader is 2.6 lbs. Not bad for a prototype. I wonder how much an ego without barrel, or tank, but with loader weighs.

I also should be able to update the first post with some new pics soon, with it 99% complete and the new frame on there.

thats pretty sweet. course... with the loader thing its kinda different... cuz the ego would have a feedneck and all that jazz.....

That's exactly the meaningless point in question. I've removed some pieces and added others. Theoretically, this makes not only the reciprocating mass negligible, but also could reduce overall weight. I already know size is reduced.

Very interesting project, I'm joining the eagerly anticipating crowd.

My stab at guessing the internals would be something Tippmann A5 styled with some sprinkles of I.C.E. Epic.
That is; a carousel on the bottom of the hopper that becomes/completes the breach as it revolves through the cycles.

Though I realize that's just a Revolve on it's end so that's probably not it.

wait... would have to do an ego with a vlo (jr?) to keep it more even.... cuz if you use a halo on the ego thats totally skewing everything

edit - just checked the pictars. it would need to be a regular vlo. i know there isnt much of a difference between the two... but this is just to keep things as close and valid as possible

Updates you say?

Check the first post for new pics.

Progress wise, I decided against making my own trigger right now, and ordered an FBM delrin trigger. I'm still waiting on it and the solenoid.

Not a lot more can happen before I get those pieces, because not a lot more needs to be done.

Do notice I've moved the ram to the front. I'll mount the solenoid up there, too. I've discovered I can run the bolt system in reverse from the front. No, I won't elaborate.

That wasn't much of an elaborate ruse, since it's obvious you mean you switched the connection of the hoses to put it in front...

This thing looks awesome though.

I do not just mean the ram cycles in reverse, otherwise I would have said that.

I am pretty pleased with how it's turning out. I'll get it annoed once I've got it working. No point if I've got more work to do.

I'm thinking dust black with gloss red parts.

Looked at the photo updates and actually said 'wow' aloud. That looks amazing without being annoed. I love the frame choice too. I am ready to see this thing shoot...and for that patent so we can all learn how the hell this thing works.
