Anyway when they wanted to play i told those kids to come and they were scared of getting shot by their guns. And when i did play these people i didnt blame em. i wasnt afraid of getting hit but when you have 4 people shooting at you with about 30 balls hitting your bunker every second what do you do. well you just pop out and for the best.....but 14 welps later idk.

Hopefully this rule will balance out some things and more casual players will play more
bro im all for the keeping new players in a bubble and then ease them in but i mean come on if there 2 new players and 8 exp then rly looking at it from a we paid more money we should have more of say thing

Eggys are gravity fed......

I like that rule though, it would make play more fun. Though the feild is probably going to lose money.

lol. Guess gravity fed hoppers mean youve gotta quit paintball then? Get over it, the site is doing it to stop nooblets getting rolled.

A more important question is why are you playing with punters? It doesnt help you in anyway, you just get used to playing sloppy players and when you go into a match you get owned every time cos your used to players playing next to their bunkers rather than behind them.

I know for a fact NO site in my area (in south west england) would allow me to turn up with my gun and stuff (see the 'Zomg!' thread in the ego forum).

"Hey are doing it to get more people playing at thier field. I can't remember the statitics, but thier are more rec ball players in the world than tournament players."

WAY more.

And look on the brightside. Now you dont burn through 2,000 paintballs each time you go, you have more fun because it now take skill to get someone out (not just pulling your trigger and following the rope to the target)

Im gonna ask my field owner if he will consider this on the weekends (rec play)

What we do. Is that if there is alot of newbies there, we will just do One ball Check (pop out, shoot one, pop back in) and the newbies can shoot as much as they want. Even then, the teams are allways fair. One game was Me, And another good guy, and a renter (He wanted to be with the "Pro's") against like.. 8 renters and one good player. We still did One Ball Check that game. We help out the newbies. If its just the regulars, then we will rip.

They act like rec ballers only use grav fed hoppers... wrong. I'm a recballer, and so are the 50+ people who I regularly play with, and 90% of us invest in high-end stuff from halo's to velocity's, pulses, q-loaders, etc.

If it's a field predominately for newer players, then fine. However, if it's a regular field, then wtf? More paint shot=more paint sold, so I don't see a legitimate reason to do it. Why not have one day of the weekend by grav-fed only, and the other day an open class day?

fields do this so new players don't get scared when playing. For a new player who steps on the field, getting 15 balls to the face, can be pretty scary. I don't want any bad *** replies about how hardcore you were when you played, or how the noobs deserver it, fact of the matter is, we need noobs for our sport to grow.

Gravity hoppers arn't that bad. Sure they limit your rate of fire... cry. It will make you a better player. You will learn that you don't need to spray a ton of paint to get a kill. Players will now learn to snap shoot the right way, and will need to use skill more, instead of the machine gun format.

This also levels out the filed of play, gun wise. This means a rental, can step on the field, and shoot almost as fast as you can, gravity is the same all around. Sure, chances are they have blind guns, so you still have an advantage.

Rec ball doesn't really matter, its to practice, not to see how many times you can shoot a 10 year old kid before they cry.

Rant over

What about the people who ONLY play recball? You must be a "typical" speedballer, because not everyone goes the route of playing rec, then making the step up to play speedball, then getting into tournaments. Some people enjoy playing in the woods just fine, and they enjoy the sport so much that they buy good gear and expect to use it. To say, "well, it will make you a better player" is a bull **** reason because the people who spent the money to buy the gear want to use their damn gear.

Keep in mind, they did buy the good gear for a reason in the first place- to get an edge on an opponent. So for a field to do this it's basically betraying all of the recballers who use force-feds (read: almost any mid-high end gun sold is told it needs a force fed hopper).

I guess the only alternative is to just not play at this field. I understand the reasons, but it would make much more sense to at least do a trial run of *saturday's being grav fed's* and *sunday's being force fed* to see what the outcome was.

That sucks.

At Boston Paintball , we can't use ramping or any other firing modes other than Semi , but , I swear all these hours of video games have given me some super-fast fingers..that or the gods of neptune just like me.

I think I really may die if we had to use crappy Gravity hoppers.

Sucks for you
