Makes perfect sense for team practice... follows the PSP rules for a PSP field.

Also makes recreational play more friendly for all.

calm down their, first of all i think its a good think that the rof is going down, nobody needs to be shooting faster than 13 balls per second, actually let me rephrase that, nobody should be ramping faster than that. if you can shoot faster than 13 in semi then i dont think there is or should be a rule against it, i wonder if the white box white fill thing has to do with the high glycerin paint found at another local indoor field

All in all i dont think its a turn in the wrong direction, i agree with alot of the things the site says and paintball is a little more fun when everyones not hosing lanes.

I don't even know if the updated software for my board for my gun goes down to 11 BPS.... and I'm pretty sure I can exceed that in semi.

Talking What one are you?

I find all these rules to be acceptable and needed. I remember when 8 balls a second were blazing. These rules are good for OUR sport overall, remember when you were a newbie first day out wondering does it hurt to be shot? The guy on the other side may have been nice and shot you once or twice at legal speed and you decided that ain't so bad so you came back. What about if that guy wasn't so nice and was shooting hot and fast and hit you with 16 balls at 340 fps you wouldn't want to come back. Rules are there to protect all, not to limit the honest players but to discourage the dishonest players. These rules will only BOTHER the dishonest players, what one are you?

This is a change for the better, and its going to be happening across the U.S.

Stop complaining, and bring your game up. Nobody in rec-ball needs to be shooting over 11bps to begin with. Rec-ball is the fun side of paintball, where people get a taste of the game. Like LionheartSDI said, if you want to overshoot some kids that are out for their first time you're just driving people away from the sport. Each person you drive away takes money out of stores and field owner's pockets, driving their prices up.

My advice, if you're playing rec-ball, invest in a Shocktech slide frame cocker, a pre-Brass Eagle revvy, and go to town.

"omg i cn nawt shoot 23bps n e moar? wtf man! i h8 u payntbal!"

I like the 13 bps rule. If you think about it, we save money. You shoot less

They should just make universal 13 pbs. Having different for rec ball and tourny ball players well when the rec ball players try to move up 2 pbs could mean a difference could not.

I don't think the NXL has changed. The league has its own set of rules independent of the PSP's. PSP dropped ROF for all divisions, 1-4, to 13bps. The Millenium series dropped their ROF to 12bps.

13.3 bps is PSP cap.......whats the problem? The layouts this year support the change well. The Phoenix layout is just a taste of the new season.....and everyone else already stated - rec ball is for people to get into the sport and enjoy the day, believe it or not fields make more off of rec ball than tourney players because of rentals, field paint, etc.......so it makes sense to cater the rules around the enjoyment factor and return business.

wat if you have fast finger on like a spyder or .... a tippmann are they going to pull you for shooting those to fast!

the rules are more than reasonable, practice at 13.33 because thats wat you play at, less bps for games that have newer players to limit their pain. sounds good to me

I personally thought for tournament players that 15bps was completely reasonable.. maybe lower it on the recball fields but thats about it. If your going to play speedball be ready to get bunkered and shot because thats just the nature of the game. While I agree with the fact that it does even the playing fields, its still going to effect the market, because whats the point of buying a completely new 1,000$ gun now? There is none, especially when you can have a Ion or something that'll easily hit 13.333bps and perform just as well as a Ego, DM, PM, etc... so for those of us who spent a lot of money on a new gun this year we pretty much get the shaft.

You don't buy guns because they shoot fast. You buy the more expensive marker for the quality in its production, the consistency from shot to shot, and a variety of other reasons.

The entire industry is reducing the ROF cap, there is a rumor that the NPPL is going to be capping at 12.5-12.7bps soon.

15bps is not allowed in the PSP, they have reduced their ROF to 13.3~bps. What's the point of letting teams practice at 15bps only to travel to an event and have to reset their markers to a new ROF cap?

i fully agree that rec ball should be lowered so that first timers and newbs dont get driven away..but thats just it..its rec ball..its for fun..we are tourny ballers..and the fast shooting makes the game harder for the front players to make such aggressive moves..and to mention..alot of boards dont go down to 13 balls per second..so now some of us will have to go out and spend more money to either get a new board that will support it..or get a new gun seeing as how manufacturers will most likely make boards that comply with the rule..ill play at this new rule but i fully do not agree with it at all for the tourny players
