dont trust at the pictures on the site...doesnt look like that anymore. the best part of bap is the turf...word on the street though is that they are getting a NPPL field in April....we shall see.

so lets say i wanted to go to SCP and wanted to bring my own paint but dont think that having paint in the back of a car for a week is a good idea, where could i buy some paint in santa clara that would be cheaper than buying at the field
SCP says they have astroturf now, so bay area ftl, except for air conditioning? i guess?
i play on hard dirt ground, anything in cali will beat that so turf is whatever

eh like i posted before dont go to bay area paintball..not only is it expensive and you have to buy their paint, the field is horrible especially the bunkers and their positions and so are the refs. since it seems like youre only willing to go to a field that is on the way to sf, scp isnt a bad choice but much better then BAP.

the only shops i go to is delta paintball in concord which is probably way out of your way and CPS(california paintball supply) in fremont which should be easier for you. i heard there is a new shop in san jose but i havent been there. honestly, holly and aaron at CPS are great and will take care all of your needs so i have no need to go anywhere else. but since youre probably only lookin for paint, the store in san jose should be no problem for you...i cant remember the name of it

bap isnt air conditioned.

also i would honestly put bap on par with scp with how they've been running lately. SCPs only up on them is the competition. Bunkers are just as crappy, and the turf at scp sucks.

Well I've never been to BAP but I don't go anywhere where it's field paint only either. SCP is pretty hard to beat, I've been all over Northern CA playing paintball. For the speed ball experience, SCP is not too bad. Prices are good, they can fill tanks to 4000-4500 psi and it's BYOP. Reffing is pretty good there too.

Antioch is not too bad, similar to SCP but their fields aren't as nice. SCP has astroturf where Antioch is pretty much dirt or sand. Price is the same and it's also BYOP. People are nice up there but the competition isn't the greatest, much better competition at SCP. SCP doesn't allow Monster Ball or anything made by Zap.

If you're looking for woodsball, personally I like Bear Creek. The Jungle sucks IMO and Sherwood is nice but the fields aren't that diverse, but then again Bear Creek isn't either. The refs are pretty anal at Bear Creek but it's actually a good thing. They keep their players honest, so the refs do a good job there, really good place for beginners. They also don't allow pink paint.

Sunol is decent, just not the best place to go if it's really hot outside. There's absolutely no shade there and their compressor sucks. The owners are really nice, but younger refs are questionable. Kind of pricey too compared to others also. Venture games has been around forever, unfortunately it's on the side of a mountain so there's a lot of games where you're basically hoofing it uphill alot. Other than that, it's a really well managed place.

Personally if you want both speedball and woodsball, I would suggest Nfinite Edge in Sacramento. It used to be Paintball Sam's. They have everything there and the refs are really good. They aren't super anal there and you usually get a good mix different levels of competition. Prices are really good and they can fill to 4500 psi. They have several fields on probably 100 acres, really good place to go for a big game format.

The Bay Area has a lot to offer in choices but best thing to do is just try it out for yourself.
