How is your off season going?

I wanted to start some conversation here leading us into the 2015 season and check in with all the NW players.

How is your "off season" going?

Have you got any big plans for 2015? Have you been out of the sport and plan on getting back into it? Are you still on the grind, pushing your game to new heights?

Post Up!

I am sure myself & other field owners would appreciate any contribution you can make to this thread. Most of us are always looking for ways to improve our services & improve NW paintball.

Thank you!

I wanted to say thank you to all the NW players. It is nice to see things growing and players supporting the fields, events, and other players!

Personally I haven't been playing much, but have been laying big, big plans for the 2015 season at DBS. This ranges from better parties for groups & new players, to offering our own 3-man tournament series to help cater to those players as they progress from first timers to weekend warriors to tournament players. There is also a possibility of a D1 PSP team making a return, but we will see what happens with that. I am very, very excited about all that is to come!

After being out of the sport for 4 or 5 years cold turkey, I am stoked to finally be getting back into paintball with friends. We've been playing almost every week now for the past two months and are getting the hang of it again! Excited to see what the local tournament series are going to be for 2015, I'm personally hoping for a fun 4-man tournament that would be in the western washington region! Currently practicing at Go Big Paintball, we also hope to see more speedball players come out in 2015 at Go Big and other fields. I plan on visiting every speedball field in western washington next year so I hope there is a consistent turnout!

Trying to sharpen up for the ssnw 3 man, first tournament in many years. Hoping to get a lot of tourneys in during 2015.

Wishing there was someplace to get more tournament like action on the weekends, like sunday funday but indoors while the weather sucks.

The crew at dbs and the lineup system works pretty great at getting jerseys separated from walkons, but wish more teams were around consistently.

Wondering why there isnt a regulation indoor field close to seattle.

Thinking about getting a pump gun.

The law of supply and demand amigo.

Bottom line is tournament players typically want to pay the least, and getting a building that could fit a Regulation PSP field in any city within 20 mile of Seattle is not cheap, let alone within Seattle.

Honestly, if I had an Indoor PSP Regulation field I would have it set up so that I could run tournaments sometimes, but have the main set up be either two smaller rec fields to accommodate to groups & newer players.

It is VERY cold outside FYI. Glad to be standing at the front desk of DBS where it is nice and warm thinking about how nice it will be this Sunday at 6AM when all the heaters in the building are set to 65+.

TOURNAMENT GUYS:

Would you guys be interested in an early morning Sunday Session at Indoor? I could set it up to run like 8AM-NOON like the tournament. Trying to gauge interest, and although I am unsure there would be enough players it could be an awesome thing to have going during the winter months.

DC19: I've been trying to make my way up to DBS to play some indoor, but being a 3 hour drive I want to make sure it's worth my time. When do you suggest is the best time to come play on the indoor speedball? I'd try to bring a few with me of course.

Weekends have been PACKED. Are you looking for tournament style play, or are you a new player?

If you are looking for tournament play and can make Thursday work then I would suggest letting people know early in the week (like Monday) that you plan on coming with X # of players and that will typically end up getting 15-20 players out. If you don't post there will likely be 8-20 players (so weeks are slower, and if people don't post up then less folks come out).

If you are looking for mixed play then come on a Saturday or a Sunday. Sunday's typically have 10 or so tournament guys this time of the year, and I can connect you with them before you come if you'd like. This Sunday there is a tournament in the morning, so I doubt that tourney crowd will stick around after the event, but next Sunday should be good.

3-man tournament I am running Sunday morning at Indoor. I didn't really advertise it as it is limited to 10-teams and it sold out within 5 days of announcing it, over 30 days before the event.

I do plan on running another one in January, but will be giving the original 10 teams dibs on those spots, then opening it to everyone else.

I will likely do another Indoor event in February, then move the series to the Outdoor once weather is nice / weather permits. There will be another division added once we move to the outdoor & the team cap will be removed or increased.

Have been working to move back to Washington and glad to say I'll be back by the new year, so hopefully enough time to shake off some rust and get back into the regional/national tournament scene.

I've missed DBS and playing with all the old bros since I moved down to Portland that's for sure.

Just finished up the season with the last WCPPL event in Las Vegas. It was a lot of fun. Coming back to Seattle for winter break in December. Hopefully I'll get to play with some of you guys at the indoor. I plan on playing once or twice before heading back to school. Graduating in June so I'm not sure where I'll be living afterwards. If I end up back in Seattle hopefully I'll be able to hop on a team.

If any of you see me at DBS in December, stop by and say hello. Always nice to meet new people! Posting this picture so you can identify me.
