Berrian signs with Vikings, 16 million
Well JA lost us berrian to the vikings who paid him 16 million making him the 4th highest paid WR
From Profootballtalk.com
POSTED 7:55 p.m. EST, March 1, 2008
Receiver Bernard Berrian has officially joined the Vikings. And he will be extremely well compensated for it.
According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, it's a six-year, $42 million contract, with $16 million guaranteed.
For Bernard Berrian.
Let's be clear on this. Berrian's best season came in 2007, with 71 receptions for 951 yards and five touchdowns.
And he gets $16 million guaranteed?

Glad to see the Vikings will remain mediocre. Congrats on overpaying for a 2nd WR at best. On a quality contender he would be #3.

Your statement makes me laugh. Berrian was widely considered the 2nd best receiver this offseason(behind Moss). You don't understand that when you need a WR NOW, you need to get him(see Troy Williamson's highlight videos ). We can't wait until next year, we can't afford too. Plus he's in his 4th season and had 70 balls last year which is pretty decent with Wrex as QB. With the WR position thin besides those two this offseason and the Vikings having a dire need for WR...why not?

Nah, he'd be a solid #2 on most other teams....Dallas for example.

So make a ******* move right now instead of building for the future? Why waste money and rush things on a plan that won't work. You have a star RB and a young QB who needs a lot more time to improve. Instead of sticking the course with good draft picks and whatnot you highly overpay for a WR who won't be a great #1 guy IMO.

Dallas:
#1-T.O
#2-Terry Glenn
Why would Glenn be replaced with Berrian? The prior 2 seasons to this year when he was injured, he has had 1000+ yards and at least 6 TDs. Glenn>Berrian

At this point in their careers Berrian is light years ahead of Glenn, dont kid yourself.

No WRs, no QB, no RB...boy the bears are seriously ****ed. Devin Hester is gonna have to return 22 Punts and kicks this year just to give them hope.

PLUS we have a ****ty o-line, outside of Kreutz. Bears offense will be a joke next year.
I foresee Hester getting played too much and possibly getting injured. Just a feeling.

I disagree. Glenn has far more experience under his belt and is a very smart WR. Before this season in which he sat out the whole season, he had played great as a #2 guy under T.O and Bledsoe making the throws.
