Review of the DSO Facility

Hey guys how about a review of the facilities down in Mcdonough GA.

1. No where near enough restrooms/portapotties. It was a mess.

2. Old paint everywhere you stepped from who knows how long ago, and when you dived into a bunker you could be called out everytime if the refs wanted because of old paintballs breaking on you.

3. Water holes on every field. You would think by now they would level the areas or fill the low ground so water won't stand in it.

4. How about $3.50 for a simple hamburger, give me a break!!!

Your Turn!!!!!

I would like to second the not enough porta-potties there, we were setup at Field 2 and had to walk a mile to the nearest one as the trailer bathroom near the CFOA trailer was always full and took hours to get in...

As far as the mud/water goes, thats paintball, nothing really they can do there unless they install a drainage system...

Also food pricing, thats how things go... Have you ever been to a professional sporting event? Same thing there...

My opinion is that its a nice facility overall, i would have more bathrooms and i would install some speakers for the field buzzers as they were very hard to hear over the announcements/off field commotion...

The trailer bathroom was so full i was afraid when i sat down that my you know what was going to fall into the pile of **** that was about 1 foot high. Definately needed more bathrooms.

Most of the old paint was from the Xball tournament the week before. Not really a big deal, most fields have paint accumulation. I played Xball and didn't have any problems with that. I reffed 5 man, and I can definately tell the difference between a hit and sliding and/or kneeling on paint.

As far as water goes, it is unfortunate that it rained quite a bit the day before the event so it caused all the puddling around the event. Again, the week before, the fields were all nice and played well.

Xball weekend, we bought food offsite, as we always do, the food will be better and cheaper at a fast food joint. 5 man weekend, my food was free courtesy of Larry Motes and the CFOA.

All in all, I give the venue a B+

2. thats from xball, refs can tell the deference from old paint and a fresh hit
3. thats what happens when it rains the day before the tournament

I concede on item 4, its like that most places and your right Mark about college games.

Items 2 & 3 still could use some work.

Item 1 I think everyone will agree with.

Actually I disagree with the food issue....

Just buy their meal deal and it was only $5.00 for a burger or hotdog, chips, drink, and a desert snack...Doesnt get much better than that for $5.00. Basically if you only got the burger you paid $3.50. For only $1.50 you got chips, drink, and a snack so that isn't bad.

I played xball and watched 5 man...The fields went from near perfect except for field 2 in xball to near horrible for 5 man...You cant help the rain.....

As for the toilets....I never stood in line at all either weekend but I agree that they were a mess.

I give the event an A+ both weekends....Not very often you go to a facility with nice parking, near a town, at a baseball field with a real concession stand, and plenty of room for staging.

1.Those are THE BEST "port-o-potty's" I've ever seen. Yes they did get a $%it-load of use(pun-intended) and probably needed to be service during the event. Still better than some sites I've been to. There were also restrooms in the center building!

2. I'm not even gunna respond to that except for... welcome to "Tournament paintball"!

3. Ummm... Mother Nature! Those fields are built in a baseball/softball complex which can handle normal rain. The rain that went thru that week was excessive!

4. Thats normal for onsite food. Try buying food at World Cup!

A for the facilty.

I don't really see an issue for the fields. Rain happens, mud happens. If you're looking for a sport where you're not going to get wet, muddy, or dirty, take up golf. Otherwise just man up and play.

my only complaint was field 2 was pretty much unplayable on one end. some kitty litter or sand at the box would have been very helpful

1. For a paintball facility, those were great.

2. X-ball the week before, can't complain about that.

3. It's on top of a landfill. Drainage can't be too good. Also, those were VERY level fields for a paintball field. Go do an anti-rain dance if you don't want water.

4. Get over it.

I would like to add on a positive side the vendor setup was great. Hats off to Paintball Central, Planet Eclipse, Paintball Kingdom. Hope to see you at the rest of the events.

For those of you that thought this was great hope to see you at Rock Hill, and yes I can get over it but there is always room for improvement thats why I started this thread.
