It is completely illegal. They will track your IP and fine you for a minimum of $500,000 USD

It happened to my friend. 100% true.

go into your hard drive and delete anything from it, then try to find and delete any tracking cookies that might have been attached

idk dude, I've heard of some pretty nasty cases of people getting caught with pirated stuff. I would delete it as soon as possible before the FBI looks into it. It maybe too late, maybe not.

You might as well just buy a new computer along with a different internet service provider, change your name, hair color etc. Your ****ed man.

You can watch all you want on those sites but when you download/ save you do in fact run the risk of being sent a letter or possibly more.

You're partially right.

The government won't sue you, the film industry will.

If you have saved that file, there is a very likely chance you have been traced. If you have saved that file, and shared it through a P2P networking program or torrent application, then that chance increases everytime someone d/l's that file from you.

The best you could do to cover your tracks is to delete every trace of the program and illegal file you have. However, if someone has downloaded that file from you, than they have a record of the transaction, in which case, you're ****ed.

I don't think it's necessary to delete what's on your HD, just anything in which will show up on that particular program, or on the internet. Or better yet, just toggle off the share files option. In addition to that, run a firewall.

I'm quite sure no one can legally search your computer, just anything in between, IE the internet for how that belongs to no one in particular and is considered open territory.

$500,000 is not an accurate number. It is about 5 grand.
Personally I would rather spend 5 bucks at blockbuster. lol

I was being a complete *******.

You aren't going to get in trouble for streaming movies from MovieForumz. The only way you're going to get in trouble is if you are uploading copywrited material. You're safe.
