Why are drop forwards so taboo?

Alright when I last played paintball like 5-6 years ago, a lot of people used drop forwards. Now it seems like they are shunned and looked at as a "newb" thing to have. What happened? If this is the wrong forum oh well I didn't see another that was better suited to a random thread like this.

On anything but a pump IMO, they're not really worth it.

its mostly cuz they have been suing so many companies.but also a little cuz theyve had some QC issues with their products,i think mostly with the freak inserts and barrels

Raises Profile.
Throws off Form.
Makes it less maneuverable.
Harder to switch hands.
Harder to shoot upwards. (Like while in snake)

What field are you playing at?

Adrenaline Junkie, I hope you weren't saying the shocker is a bad gun. I Hate SP just as much as the next guy (That isn't on the band wagon) But i would never say a shocker is low-end or mid-end.

Id consider a shocker to be an inferior spool valve gun. Sure tits a good gun but its not great by any means.

i dis agreee about the form thing. to me, it feels better, more maneuverable , and, easier to change hands. i find i dont have to extend my arms as much to change hands, which is helpful in a tight spot. in general i feel more incontrol of my gun with one, but i think thats just the better weight distribution. i cant say anything on the "shooting upwards" bit, as i have yet to play a field with a snake with a drop forward.

couldnt have said it better myself..i cant think of how many people ive asked why they dont like smart parts and the most popular answer.."i heard they suck"..i have 3 of there markers and love everyone..reliable performance that is at a good price for people just gettin into the game

drop forwards..i have them on a couple of my markers..i like them..ya it may make it a taller profile but not enough to matter to me when i play woodsball..and as far as the hopper being in my face it never has been..i like to be able to keep the gun in close and tight and a drop forward allows me to...but ya i get weird looks cus i have one..oh well..my preferance

let's stay on the drop-forward topic. Save the SP woes for another forum.

no problem, what forum would be better suited to that? I feel as if I'd get biased responses in the SP forum.

Matt ill tell u right now... ive shot everything from egos to cockers to shockers... My last gun was a DM6 with a shocker as a backup.... i traded my DM6 for a dynasty shocker and i love em. I swear by shockers... they are hands down an amazing gun to shoot. Not the best by ne means... but they are absolutely amazing. Hope this helps.
