It's official: Obama won Texas

So far I've only seen speculation (and was in disbelief that TV media has concluded Clinton won, even though the vote wasn't even half-finished), but it's actually official now.

Quote:
The Texas Secretary of State is set to certify the official election results for the Democratic primary. As predicted, Barack Obama has beaten Hillary Clinton. While Clinton won the state's popular vote, Obama racked up more caucus support, so that, now that the final tally is in, the Lone Star state's delegate total reads:

Obama: 61 delegates from the popular vote + 38 delegates from caucuses = 99 delegates.

Clinton: 65 delegates from the popular vote + 30 delegates from Caucuses = 95 delegates.

So news people can now stop saying "two big wins in Ohio and Texas." Big win in Ohio, sure, but not Texas.

A further analysis of the delegate race over at DailyKos reveals that Clinton's supposedly big week has actually resulted in a net loss of 15 delegates to the front-runner. That's right, Obama continued to widen his delegate lead, and will certainly add to that margin (as well as to his lead in the popular vote) after today's contest in Mississippi.
http://news.aol.com/political-machin...on-lost-texas/

If this really is official and true, why aren't we seeing this all over TV and newspapers? Surely no news corporations can deny such important fact.

Edit: Okay, apparently the official results aren't official until March 29. Still, I'm seeing more and more stories on the internet basically saying, "wtf, Hillary didn't win."

Yeehaw?

Edit: I think the results from Texas basically sum up the Democratic primary this year: Obama wins by a hair.

I already said he would.. Seriously I can't see Texas going to clinton, ever. And everyone can just be quiet about the redneck/racist stereotypes.

You do realize that I think 1/3 of voters there are Latinos and there is definitely racism towards blacks in the Latino community. Plus the Clinton's have very strong relations with Latino voters.

This is very true. Many mexicans that I know (and would have called friends at one time) don't see black very favorably, some I would even accuse of being racist.

He certainly stands a better chance against McCain than Clinton. There's a reason so many republicans are supporting Hillary right now...

Sorry but McCain won't beat Hillary or Barack.

I thought that was just pretty obvious to most people. McCain has so much baggage attached to him I'm surprised his old legs can handle it.

The reason the media isn't flipping out over this is because Clinton won the primary. Not many people though she'd win the caucuses. Lets move on, bring on PA.
