I liked it a lot, I am not a big fan of the pillars they block out too much of a fields cross shots.

I missed the pillars. I thought the field was wide open and caused very slow drawn out points. Now dont get me wrong, there were lots of fast points but there were a lot more long points than normal. I didnt like that aspect.

and the axbl doesn't block alot of cross shots with pillers being in the back, so u can have ur front guys doing cross shots

Axbl layout looks like it would lead to a lot of nasty nasty bunkerings at the end of the match. Two guys at the back right and left would have a split second to nail the player coming to bunker their buddy. Difficult to cross up at the end of the match.

I think the Texas Open Layout 06 was one of the best layouts ever. Id love to see laneblockers near the starting gate again.

i thought the layout was a 5 man layout and made extremely long points and was a bit borring to watch and play...but i can't wait for the 08 kits to be at xball# 2

This past field layout couldn't have been any better. It fit just about every team's style. You could win through the dorito side, snake side, and up the middle. Not one side of the field dominated over the other, unlike with a lot of PSP field set ups where the snake side is a lot more dominant than the dorito and etc.

As for the lack of lane blockers, I'm glad they're gone. I've always felt they were very unneccessary. They cluttered the lanes, and cross field shots worse than the X itself. If you're under the impression that X-ball is meant to have points that consist of very few people being shot off the break, corners being shot out by the snake/dorito only when the snake/dorito player hits the 50. The pillars would make games slower in most situations.
