well, like I said, the spring is long enough so that when the bolt is all the way forward the spring is still pressed up against the back of the tip of my bolt and the tip of my bolt guide. so it is always securly in place
here is a pic to better illustrate that.
I got the pic from zdspb.com and I added the black spring

lmk if this answers ur question

Like i said, it will just curl on the inside and im afraid that is not what is intended as it will touch the side of teh bolt, also perhaps it could be the tension level, perhaps this one is too weak, a more taught spring might sit better?

does this mod work when you have to shoot at low velocities like 230-250 fps for reball.

Ballingpaint helped look for balloons
I think someone should test out different spring lenths and pressures with different dwells and input pressures. I dont think cramming any old spring at any old lenth is going to get you the best results.

if the spring isn't too stong and it will fit in the bolt then it will work. stronger springs will have a greater effect, but the smaller ones will have some effect. so most springs will work

Ive got a stock bolt for my sft and if im reading correctly or maybe i missed something, do i just take the right sized spring and drop it in the back of the bolt. Then place everything together and lower my hpr?

lmk if this answers ur question
well its not the fact of it commin out wile just dri firing.. or even wile testing im talkin about divin into a snake, and running and gunning... and all the crap my gun goes threw for me. im just wonderin if the spring would come out during normal play? i would hate for my gun to go down at teh wrong time also maby you can secure the spring to the front of the bolt..

also in the pick above i dont see how this is allowing for your bolt to go all the way back into place... it looks like it would keep the bolt forward just that much to screw some stuff up. also look at the back of the bolt... there is some space back in there between the bolt guide and the bolt.. could u fit a spring back in there. i would feel much more safe with it back there.

and i always wondered if this is how Lurkers bolt was going to work? he would always talk about springs and such... i just never thot about doing it my self

as long as the spring isnt too strong the bolt will go back once the gun airs up and it will fire like normal

as for the putting the spring in the back, read back a few pages and theres some talk and info on that

lurkers bolt did use a spring but i believe its used to push the bolt back not forward.

The space back there is not as big as it looks. You will need to open it up to fit a spring in it.

Yes lurkers spring was intended to push the bolt backwards at the end of the forward stroke in order to close the valve faster.

I will get pics of my bolt with the spring in the back in the next few days so you guys can get a better idea of what it looks like.
