Tax Rebate

Once again the Bush Administration royally ****s the middle class. My family makes over 150,000 a year, so we don't get a dime of rebate.

You need to take into consideration that the more you make, the more you pay. If anything he should be getter more than the average family because they've had to pay more than the average family.

Thank you, we pay about 28% of our income in federal income tax alone.

Umm.....you're not the middle class. You're actually considered the middle upper class or lower upper class. Middle class makes far less than $150k a year.

Plus, when the top 1% of income earners are paying 36% of taxes, they deserve a break. Oh wait, I forgot, all rich people inherit their money and don't work....not taking into account that to get into the top 1% all you have to do is have a family income of $250k a year....not too far from what your family makes. You're so poor.

Not sure if you are considered still in the middle class with that salary. But that also depends on your location and the areas cost of living.

How is the "middle class" even defined? Is it the median or the mean of population income? Or maybe it's neither and some politicians sit around and decide.

Personally, I think $150,000 is middle class. Upper class should start around $500,000 a year. Around here, it's hard to afford a decent house unless you're making $150,000....

You're telling me someone make $300,000 a year should be middle class? Is this utopia?

Thats not true, at all. If the purpose of the stimulus is to encourage consumer spending, then why only give it to the poor? If someone is poor and they want to buy a $500 table saw, the rebate will allow them to do that. Someone in the middle or upper class cannot. Just because they're rich doesn't mean they've budgeted more money to spend on random ****. They still have to make house and car payments.

My family makes less than 30,000 a year.

We actually have to pay taxes instead of a rebate this year. Bull**** indeed.

The rebates they're giving out are chump-change to upper-middle/low-upper class citizens, and wouldn't do much. When you give the rebates to people living paycheck to paycheck, you can almost guarantee the money will be spent.

You're breaking my heart....
No really, you are.
How unfair it is that you can't let other people fund the public services you use every day.
You know, you're right, it is bull****. Let's tax the people who are paying taxes, and funding those services, even more so you don't have to pay anything at all, and you can just leach off of the rest of us.

I'd play you a sad, sad tune on my violin, but I had to sell it to pay my own tax bill, so I guess you are **** out of luck on that one.

I'm in the same bracket(at least) and its simple economics why we aren't going to get any back. We already have money to spend, and are probably spending it...

Where as people who don't ever have money to spend on stuff can now drop their 800 on a nicer T.V. or something.

You're probably getting a lot of things from the taxpayer's dime, yet you're complaining that you actually have to start paying for them...

We pay taxes all freakin year.

HOWEVER, the rebate we'd get from paying those taxes (yes, paying taxes for all of those lovely services we use) has also been taken. Where many of you get at least some rebate for being good taxpayers, we don't even get that this time around.

To mistaken us for not paying taxes at all is ridiculous.

To make less than 30K a year show a lack of motivation from your family. Considering that is less than $625 per week. Considering a person working for 5.50(the lowest minimum wage?) for 40 hours a week will make $220. and most states and jobs pay over the $5.50 mark.

I'm sorry but you're getting boned.
