spring loaded bolt

i was messing around with my sft one day and decided to make it more efficient. it already had HE but figured lower the dwell right? didnt work great so i spring loaded it and dropped the dwell from 45 on my blackheart to 15 and is getting noticably more effiecient but i havent counted yet. -the spring pushes the bolt forward- make sense? ill post the type of spring when i find it and such but so far its eliminated FSDO too. any thoughts or ideas on what i did would be appreciated to improve it.

But really, why does anyone need to go over 15? 13.3 even (seeings as thats the new rule). Aside from that, that's an interesting concept, and i kinda see how it could work. Might I ask what inspired you to do such a thing ?

^exactly listen to him lol well it needed to be more efficient and figured a spring would get the bolt forward faster and easier resulting in lower dwell and more efficiency right? o and its located in between the tip of the bolt guide and the inside of the bolt face. make sense?

Yeah that makes sense. Where'd you pull the spring from? Another marker maybe?

nah picked it up from ace hardware and cut it down a little til i got it perfect cuz if it was too long it would stop the bolt from going all the way back.

I've hade one in mine for about 2 years now. Combine the spring with a ndz adjustable bolt guide and you will get even better efficiency (after you tune it right). My spring is in the back of the bolt over the guide though as I have an open face bolt. I originally did it to eliminate drop off, but found that it had a lot of other benifits. The only prob that I see with having the spring up front is the possibility that over time you will scratch that part of the bolt and not allow the front guide o-ring to seal. I did not experience a lower rate of fire by any means either. From 2 years of experience I can say you will love it. Also if you get a ndz guide and turn it in to the right point you can remove your he o-ring and lower your pressure a lot and not see a drop in efficiency.
