Question

OK getting a SiN SE and want to have a barel done with it. But don't know what one to get. It's between the SP All American. Dye Boomstick, or a Lapco Bigshot.
Is the Bookstick worth the extra money that it costs over the other barrels? Has anyone used one? How was it? I know that I won't be able to get teh Bigshot soon so I'm leaning toward teh Boomer. Any comments?

Boomers arn't bad, but AFAIK, Lapco's shipping bigshots again... I'd definately try to get your hands on one of them first, if at all possible. Otherwise you'll just be paying more for a barrel of pretty much the same quality... (plus a pretty little logo. )

I own a Boomstick and I love it. Ill love it even more when SiN gets through with it. I havent regretted buying it for one second. Ive never used a Bigshot though so I have no basis for comparison. Ive heard lots of nice things about the Bigshot, though. If you cant try em out before you buy the best you can do is ask around (which you already have). Id say, if youre on a budget, go for the Bigshot. If you can drop a little extra cash go for the Boomstick.

Cheers!

The BigShot's a nice barrel. I like my flatline better (not to start yet another holy war), but the BigShot's definitely my next-favorite.

I have an eight inch Boa Snake Bit. Its satin nickel plated and has an incredible fiish on the bore. It's very efficient and pretty quiet for a short barrel, much quieter than my bigshot and makes the gun very compact. Accuracy is first rate. They cost about eighty dollars plus shipping from BOA. I think eight inches is as short as you would want to go unless you get one unported.

i agree with lost.. however if you are looking to have it coated by sin i might stay away from the BOA.. mostly is the solder.. the thread ends on the BOA are silver soldered in place.. when we coated ours the solder started to blead out.. and on one barrel it even came off. if you dont want to get the powder definaly go with a BOA over a boomer.

as for the boomers.. dont get me wrong they are great barrels however you can find just as good barrels for half the cost.. personaly i recomend CP for low end barrels. ive had most of the barrels on the market and for the price the CP has the best qualtity, consistancy and sound in the class.

You can't go wrong with a CP barrel for the price.

The DYE boomstick is a great barrel, but a CP, Big, J&J.... these barrels are just as good at half the cost. But, if you still want the DYE name... get the 12" Aluminum. They are light, very accurate, and damn quiet.

However, I must mention the Armson Stealth. It can not be surpassed when you have a good paint/barrel match. It's whisper quiet, and sniper accurate. When you get a paint to be best suited for this barrel, you'll love how it works. However, it is pretty picky. If you don't have access to mostly small bore, or small to medium bored paint, I'd not get it then. Because if you get medium or bigger, you'll chop more and it just won't work as good.

no the CP dosnt have sleaves.. the Freak Set made by Smart Parts has the sleaves.. the full kit has 8 different bore sizes and it has the option of 2 different ends ( Tear drop or All American porting)

the CP has a Barrel called the Perfect Bore.. but the first stage is completely swaped out rather than just chaging the internal part (sleave)

I'd try to find a bigshot to get powdered.
