You make a good point. The only question is...where is the o-ring on the striker in the cocked position...? anyone have a rough measurement?
edit: I just took apart my pilot and put the parts next to the body in approx. where they would be cocked...looks like I'll be alright with cutting out around the fin...sweet!

That's exactly what I was trying to say....I just couldn't explain it the way you can. I think it will turn out nice if you do it this way. Just do me one favor, don't enter the same month that I do LOL

well I have made some progress in the window, cut out behind the fins and have a nice hole going in front just have to finish the rest. I got my new Eye covers today (timmy tribal in black) I didn't realize the detents were so much small on a timmy. And it seems I will have to modify the eye covers ever so slightly...they wrap around the bottom slightly where the trigger frame bolts up, so that kinda sucks...

was probably going blue to black fade, kinda like the photoshop Oneup did, mainly because all my accents are blue and my barrel back is black so it will all match but that is a bit off still so I have time to think a bit on it.

Nicely done.
I think you could make the shark fin tip more distinct. You know, like make it so that the fin only touches the upper tube at one point like in the picture. You might need a really small file...
Also, if you are doing acid wash you could make slightly deeper grooves where the red lines are to make the front fin more distinct and rear fin more sharp. I don't know if that would work with fades.
but something has to be done to make the front fin more visible, if at all. (Maybe laser engraving?)

yeah I have been trying to get into that groove..I have a fairly thin file and I still can't get all the way in there, I am going to give it more of a shot as I sand and such. I was also trying to think of a way to make that front fin more noticeable. I don't want to put too deep of a groove there though because I don't want to go into the tube...the striker o-ring sits arounf there when cocked...
what exactly is an acid wash?

2 color ano. from some examples, imo it seems to leave one color in most grooves so it shows of the contours of the milling.

yeah I see what you mean... the edge of that fin is fairly well defined when holding it, just in the pictures with all the flash and such...

i would cut grooves in where the marker lines are on the fins, that would make them stand out more, especially on the bottom of the spikes/fins

My friend had a Shark drop foward on his B2K4, it might've even come stock with it. If you found one for this gun that'd be sweet, help the design pop a lot more.
And OneUp, is that drill press you posted on the other page any good for only $60?? I'm really tempted to get it, you can do cutting with it too? I have no experience with anything beyond a dremel so I've never used one.

Is there any way to mill the gun without having to re-goddamn annodize it?
I mean, i did mine, and the Anno came off EVERYWHERE while i was filing the top tube, and Im planning on getting a cheap Pilot and doing it there, but more carefully.
I know masking tape wont work, i already tried that, lol, and the only thing that seems to make sense is putting a rather thick coat of laquer paint on the body and scraping it off later.
