Ideas

Body-Blue to black fade anno
Bolt-Try to make it a black to blue fade
Eye covers-black and blue acid wash
Make the eye covers a cross between isongj's idea and yours right now. It will look amazing.

i think if you did a little more to those ones you made, you would be very happy with them... and plus you would be more proud cuz you have more custom work on there...

The pics look pretty good; the points look nice and sharp. Two suggestions:

1. The current state looks a bit 2 dimensional. Round off the edges (not the points but the x and z planes) and maybe add some grooves and notches in order to give the plate more character.

2. I know that the main reason why you made these is to cover those holes that were left exposed by the other eye covers. I still think that you should thin out the stalk so that it doesn't look so stubby.

Other than that, it looks like you made some good progress on those things. You sir, get another cookie

yeah I am not entirely sure I like the ones I am making...I can try to shape it a little more but not too sure of the design. OneUp you have any ideas?? lol. Maybe I'll do a black to blue fade and put in the black alloy set screws to plug the holes and anno the timmy covers blue....dunno

edit: I did actually thin the stalk a little bit and sharpened up the points, and actually the center is thinner than the timmy ones. I'll mess with them and see what I can do.

Can you take another pic for us? Place the eye covers on the body (not where they would actually sit but over to the side so that we can see the holes that you are trying to cover). I'll give photoshop a go cuz I think I can help a bit with the design.

Sent me the blanks and I'll grind out some nasty eye covers for you
I'll try and photoshop something for you tonight. I see what you're trying to do the the notches, but the one's you did kina makes it look like the veins on a leaf. I was thinking more along the lines of having the edges more bevelled and the center line being the thickest part of the plates. From there, you can do different levels that basically step up to the level of the center plateau.

you have so much room to play with! besides doing what doc said, try thinning out the cover, because it looks mighty thick! instead of just beveling the edge off, inside the curve of the spikes (as in all the "C" shapes) slope it so that its thin on the edges and slowly gets thicker once you go towards the center of the cover. by the pic, it looks as if that how the black covers are designed, so build off of that design.

edit: i would suggest using a cone-shaped bit, with the wider base at the opening of the "C" so that the slope will stay pretty consistent.
