Blowback Build

The point of this project is simple. Find the best parts made for Spyder and Spyder clones and combine them into making the best looking and best performing Spyder. This is what I came up with. Although this is just a short dry fire video (no paint available), paint and a full break down will come soon. I've owned many guns in my 14 years of playing. But this has to be the smoothest blowback I have ever shot. Compared to an SL66 I used to own (Keep in mind for you haters out there. I never once said this gun is better than the SL66, but it sure feels close to it when shooting it). I will be testing this gun and it's limits. I'm still not done modifying. I'm still trying to squeeze more performance out of it. So more to come!!!

If you are curious in knowing. This is my main gun

can you tell me about the VS2 valve? i tried to make an old school mech. spyder low pressure and haven't finished yet. its sprung super light im guessing?

impressed that it recocks so well without paint

e trigger is perfect for that build

If you're planning on using an old body style spyder. You will have to remove the valve pin and find a way to cover those holes. If you look at picture number 4 (4th from the top). You will notice there is a set screw (there is one on the other side also). This was the best and easiest approach without having to permanently seal it with epoxy. That way if I ever wanted to convert back to using the normal valves I would just use a longer screw to act as the previous valve pin.

The VS2 valve will require a light valve spring and of course a light tension main spring. Less momentum from the striker/spring is required to push the valve forward since it's "balanced". As opposed to the normal spyders when it required a heavier striker and a stronger main/valve spring to properly recock.

Yeah, I'm surprised I was able to get it to recock without paint. I kept having that trouble when I had the VS2. But a lot of it had to do with the exhaust port on the bottom of the body. That exhaust port is used to release any extra "recock" gas used for the striker. In this case, the vs2 valve is long enough to cover that hole! This helps the marker recock more efficiently in my opinion. The striker is small enough that it doesn't require the exhaust hole. If there is any excess it'll just exit the slot where the frame is located. If that makes any sense.

The e-trigger is perfect, but I would like to see that mech build you're doing. The internals are lighter and require less tension I can see it being a smooth build.

that all makes sense, thanks. so i can run the vs2 valve. that body is essentially the same as a "compact" style? I may tap/plug my recock vent and see if that helps my system.

so where might one find some of these parts your using? google doesn't return it quickly, ebay?

im running an alien morph valve in a sniper so i understand the pincipal.

Yes sir. Essentially a compact style body. However I don't recommend plugging the recock if you don't go the VS Valve route. The bigger striker will require venting the gas. It'll slow and bog down your system. It'll essentially make it un able to recock properly.

I don't know if this illustration makes sense, but it'll look like this. The pocket of air won't be able to exit out on time for the marker to properly recock. The gas between the valve and the striker will not make the appropriate contact needed.

[Valve] *Pocket of air* [Striker]

It's different for the VS Striker since it's smaller and is able to exit a different way without affecting it's performance.

Check your striker size before trying to swap to the VS2 valve. The VS2 valve uses a special striker, which is a "slim" striker. Older compacts had "fat" strikers.

If your striker is the same size as the valve it's slim. If it's bigger than the valve it's fat. Fat striker guns work well with AKA valves, and I think I remember hearing they're easier to tune for Rocket valves (sorry, never tinkered with those), but won't work with the VS2 striker.

I can dig it! Very simple and clean build. I bet it shoots amazing with the VS2 valve. Best Valve Kingman ever man in my opinion.

Shoots amazing. I tested it out this weekend and had no issues with it. Smooth shooting and no breaks.

I picked up an Azodin Zenith II. I'm looking to see how much I could get out of that gun. I'm digging all the fine tuning you can do to the blowback. Even the OLED
