Reffing SHOULD be Stinger factory.
I have heard nothing but good about these guys, and if they are anything like the reffing at Air Assault this will be a great event.

Field layout is 08 PSP Phoenix. If PSP doesn't have it published by February 16th, we will use the NPPL Boston 07 layout.

The max team limit is set at 36, to make an even 4 groups of 9 teams, allowing multiple prelim sessions. The schedules will need to be out thursday so teams know when they will need to show up. If we have the huge turnout again, and we do split up into different groups, there will be a captain's meeting at the beginning of each group's playing time.

Here are the breakdowns for finals structure I'm proposing:
1 day:
Minimum-16 = 4 team best of 3 finals. (top 25%)
16-24 teams = 6 team finals, each team plays 5 games (~top 25%)
25-32 teams = 8 team semis, 4 team best of three finals. (~top 25% for semis)

2 day: (Doing a 2 day event should only happen with large numbers of teams)
24-32 teams = 16 team quarters(3 games each), 8 team semis (3 games each), 4 team best of three finals
33-48 teams = 50% field semis (3 games each), 4 teams to finals, best of 3

Field Layout:

Doors: Open at 7:30 AM on saturday.

If we hit 27 teams, we will be doing a two day event. So those of you stragglers (my guys included) need to register squads ASAP. Stinger actually prefers that we do a two day event because it's easier for them to clean and prep for us. In either case, we will be splitting the day up into two rounds. Half the field will be the morning session, half will be the afternoon session. This may be broken down even more depending on the number of teams that sign up. If this is the case, you will know in ample time when you need to show up at the field for your games. If you think you're on the bubble for being good enough to advance to sunday, you're going to want to get a hotel.

Food: Details will be coming soon, however we will probably have lunch and dinner on saturday, and a lunch on sunday. Prices and final details will be posted when I get a call back from Mr. B.

Refs: Will be provided by Stinger. Stinger factory and their other team (name escapes me right now) will be doing this. There will be a minimum 10 refs on the field.

Trophies: Stinger trophies and medals for top 3 places.

Field: If PSP doesn't have Phoenix out by sunday at 5 pm, we will be playing NPPL Boston 07. Stinger may be short a few bunkers, however we will know in advance which bunkers will change on the field BEFORE you all leave to go to the event.

Either one. I'd agree. But for now let's kinda forget about this guy until Air Assault is done and over with.

I'd like to do a PSP layout for Nationals, preferably MAO, but that depends on whether I can get my hands on it and that it's suitable for our purposes.

Layout for this event: I'll be sending an e-mail to captains later this week to vote on it. I'm pretty sure everyone is on the mailing list, but if your team captain isn't please PM me.

Refs: Again, on the list of things to do this week, however tentatively refs will be Stinger Factory. More details when I get them, as I'll be talking to Stinger on tuesday or thursday.

Team Limit: This kind of goes hand in hand with the # of days. If we have a huge turnout like the last one, it's going to go to two days. If we have like 20 teams, it'll be a one day. In theory I'd like to put a 36 team cap because it makes nice groups for prelims, allowing us to break into morning and afternoon sessions.

Final Round Structure: This will again be up to captains, but at Air Assault there was interest expressed in doing a best 2 of 3 between #1 & #4 seed, and #2 and #3 seed, with the winners facing off in best 2 of 3, and losers doing the same.

Tkotime: When I get all of the info finalized I'll send you a pm with the code to put in the first post.

UW-Platteville P-Vegas Ballers should be there for sure but I'm not sure if we are sending more than one team at this time.

I know how people feel about finals and having 3 teams go 2-1 making it come down to a very small number of points for 1st -3rd but in reality it is the only real way to do finals in my mind because all the teams that made it should have to opportunity to play the other 3 teams. Basically one bad game could put you out of the top 2 and thats not right. But thats JMO.

I like the best of 3 idea for finals because it seems like finals is always determined by few points. At least with best of 3 it makes the ranking going into finals more important.
