That'll be sick, but it seems that all the companies might start doing them now. It'd be very interesting to see it as an industry standard in the upcoming years. Keep us posted!

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be allowed to. OLED on a marker board was probably patented by Tadao Technologies. Unless they work out some sort of deal with Tadao, but I doubt that would happen.

It would be nice to know when they make the Nuskool software available for other marker boards, like Marq...(they "don't know" yet).

WDP, PE, Matrix LCD, or any number of spider clones? That patent would be hard to get unless they specifically said OLED being thats a relatively new technology.

People want an on screen read out of how fast they are shooting.....

On a more serious note, it does make programming the board easier. Saves remembering a bunch of LED colours and what they mean, and then counting trigger pulls and flashes for the values. You can see the parameter you are adjusting in writing on the board, and the value that it is adjusted to. Once you know how to switch in to programming mode and how to switch between parameters, you barely need the manual. Very easy, very intuitive, little room for error.

Basically, it's like an LCD board, but with a different display method to create the graphics. Hardier, easier to read and less power draw. With the relatively small increase in price? Why not?

Plus of course, it has the "Gee whiz" factor.....

WDP patented the use of any displays as far as I understand it. Not sure if Tadao is licensing from them or not.

Maybe it's just me but I never adjust settings unless I upgrade something. Once it's set, I leave it on uncapped semi with the 15bps lock on all my markers. I don't see a use for the OLED. Nice to show off but alot of people already have aftermarket boards for their markers. No need to really go out and buy a new board because of the OLED.

True enough - everyone has different requirements. However, if you happen to be playing NPPL one day, Millennium rules another, then PSP, then throw in some of the other regional variations (I'm in Europe, so there's Centurio and other series to take in to account), and any requirements that may be specific to certain fields, and you have the possibility of needing to regularly switch mode, rate of fire and debounce settings. In that instance there's something to be said for making changes as quick and easy as possible (or having a board with multiple memory banks and having all the modes and settings you use pre-programmed). With some players still guesting on various teams and jetting around the world to play different series, it's a consideration.

For me personally, it's a nice feature, as I have a poor memory, so if I didn't have a manual to hand, programming a board would be a nightmare, particularly with owning a number of different boards - I'd never remember which colour represented which feature on what board. APE? Forget it. Having a board that can be programmed without needing to refer to a manual? Huge convenience.

Like I said, all comes down to personal requirements. Is an LCD/OLED screen essential? Hardly. Handy? Certainly.

Yea true, you have a point there. As for someone who just plays for fun (like me) It's useless. I think that was the point I was trying to make but didn't seem to come out that way.

As for me, I only change semi mode to ramping mode to show around but I mainly use semi and I leave all my settings the same.

Hmm. Did not know that. I knew the LCD was patented, but I was unsure of the OLED. Patenting a general idea ruins the economy, the US needs to get their **** together.
