AKA noob!

Alright well I am tired of feeling like a noob. I have a few questions about vikings. What year doesnt have the bolt like tilted to the side? I have seen an 02 viking, is that the earliest of vikings? Why does everybody have humphrey noids? Were the stock noids realy bad? How heavy is an 04 unmilled? Where is the best place to buy boards? How is air efficency? How is accuracy? What threads are the feedneck? They are cocker threaded right? What is the diffrence between excals, vikings and crusaders? Which one is best? How are farth triggers? What should I use to lube the bolt?

*All Vikings and Excaliburs have the bolt tilted to the side.
*'02 is the earliest Viking model
*AKA switched to Humphrey noids in late '03 NOT because MAC noids are bad as a matter of fact MAC noids sound much smoother but Humphrey noids are more energy efficient.
*An unmilled '04 is exactly 3lbs
*Best places for upgrades are destructivecustoms.com, dbnpaintball.com and akalmp.com
*2000+/- shots off a 68/45k
*Accuracy is due to barrel/paint match NOT your marker
*Feednecks are MacDev threaded
*Barrels are cocker threaded
*Vikings are open bolt marker like everything you find out there, Excaliburs are closed bolt marker like an Autococker
*Crusaders are just a type of milling pattern of Vikings
*Which one if the best? PREFERENCE
*How are Forth triggers? PREFERENCE
*To lube the marker I personally only use 1 drops of AKA oil per 2000 shots. Do NOT over oil your marker.

Thanks! I dont want to get into the "gun makes the accuracy" argument but I am pretty sure the gun helps alot.

Accuracy comes from consistency of the marker and paint to barrel match. Where AKA markers glory in this case is that they are extremely consistent thus making them inherently accurate.

Do you AKA people refer to the feedneck threads as Macdev threads?
We always call them AKA threads...

Well.... saying "AKA feedneck threads is the same as AKA feedneck threads" wouldn't help very much huh?

Do understand that in early 2004 AKA markers were stopped by a lawsuit by SP. They did have a Tadao board back then, but now it is seriously outdated by new technology. Back then AKA was the top of market, hands down. I even read in the Vintage Trix forum somewhere where they did a comparison between the Viking and the Trix. The DYE guys suggested to buy the Viking, just for your holy cow, I'll be darned, jee wiz collection.

And as stated above, accuracy is determined by....
consistency
paint to barrel match
sphericality (don't know if that's a word) of your paintl

The gun only affects the consistency part of it, and yes, AKA guns are very consistent.

Nelson is the old-school board. Then they sent them out with WAS and Pandora boards. Tadao was a purely aftermarket board. Your best bet for a good board these days is a Cyborg board for Vikings and a universal T-board or Morrlock board for an Excalibur. These still haven't been tried yet as far as I know. I know that Intimidator88 has a DM board working on his Viking.

The viking Tadao board seems to work great for me... I wouldn't even consider replacing it, I see no point.

I am running my Viking off of a DM4 Pred v10 board and it runs great, pretty much any board will run the Viking if you are using humphrey noids. If you have the Mac noids you have to be sure that your board can send out the extra current to power the noid properly.

Thats not even remotly true. The Tadao board for vikings is just as good as any other board today. It may not have all the useless mods newer boards have but its far from outdated.

Deffinately agree with A-J. A trigger pull is a trigger pull no matter how you look at it, as long as a bored has a decent cap it will work fine.
