For the record I have some crappy soccer cleats that work pretty well too. Turf shoes are great though.

I don't know of any paintball tournament series that allows metal cleats - too big a potential to cause harm [to players, fields and bunkers]

Ahh dang. I was hoping the divisions would be two seperate days. That way people wouldn't have to find lodging.

you can dig into the turf at aa ive played on both turf shoes and cleats and i have better grip with cleats but i still slid around alot

I think it would be a good idea that if people who live far away that if they divisions were on two different days. It would keep it a 2 day tourney but more manageable for other people. Just an idea.

by making it a one day event for each division, it would allow my team to sign up more easily

Thats a two-way street.

If you make each division play on seperate days, then the players traveling from a distance to play on the second day (ie Sunday) will have little travel time after the event ends to get back home as games will be played later into Sunday.

Having played a ton of local MN events and being from ND, I've been able to find cheap hotels all over the place. Whats $25 extra per player for lodging when you are already spending hundreds to play the even in the first place?

I understand but when your scraping money to play $25 is one less thing to worry about. Plus alot of these teams don't have players who are 18 to get a hotel room.
