Getting back into speedball(need tips)
So I have been playing woods ball for about five years and I want to get into speedball and it would be appreciated if some of you guys helped me out and gave me tactic tips and gear tips.
Gear so far:
-2011 invert mini no upgrades
-Empire halo hopper
-stock barrel
-ninja 3000psi tank
(I really want to play snake, so tips for that will be great!)
Thanks!

Troll -
Put on some bunny ears, hop around like you're all hot crap! Dive in mud puddles and YOU NEVER STAY LOW ON THE SNAKE, just stand up and walk slowly to the front of it like you're a dark soul. If you get painted that means keep playing!
For Reals -
I suggest watching a few matches on youtube so you get the hang of it and figure out what really goes on as a snake player. You're basically the front side of the team and you take pressure on all the back players, mid players. Keep a third eye open for the front player which will be looking for you most of the time and always keep shooting and stay low between what you have in front of you(possibly the snake bunker). If you RUN you most likely won't get shot and don't always stay in one place at all times because you will die! Practice some snap shooting drills with the team and call outs, diving. It's all in fun so have a good time!
DON'T WIPE!

I like to think the trolls around here are a bit more sophisticated than that, Gravedude. You disappoint me.

don't post unless you have tips for the OP!
If you're trying to make me sink below your level you're not doing it through flaming! I'm not getting a fraction over you so I refuse any smart mouth talk.

The first thing I learned to do was tilting my gun towards my bunker. On either side just lean the hopper's high side towards the inside of the bunker. Use your bathroom door and the mirror in front of you to find your sweet spot. You already have a small gun profile so it shouldn't be difficult to conquer. Also, you absolutely need to get knee/elbow pads. Don't get cheap **** like I used to do. Invest in proper protection, because your slides and dives will definitely suck in the beginning, and they will most certainly hurt like hell. Practice hip slides on your front lawn or living room area. You look crazy doing it solo in a strange place like living quarters, but you look boss as **** doing it into a bunker. Another thing to pay attention to is the pre-game set ups people do. I've seen people drop pods at their destination bunkers, check their firing lanes behind their favorite bunkers and even give a pre-run slide or two into the snake. The amount of pods a person carries also shows you how much they mentally prepare to unload onto your fragile ***.
Tl;dr, ignore this and read the post.

If starting more towards the beginner level, I find that staying inside your bunker patiently while you have paint flying over you will bore your opponents. They'll want to stop wasting paint on you and switch somewhere else. That's when you go in for the kill.

Start with the basics: semi auto trigger training. Turn your eyes off (hold trigger while turning on for the Mini) and unless you get an asa on/off use an empty tank to make it as natural as possible. Learn to walk the trigger until the sound is a consistent rhythmic "click click click click". Then learn to do it with your off hand. Don't let ramp do the work for you, you'll be thankful when you play semi games.
T-drills. Without your marker first so you don't wipe out and dump it in the dirt. I'll spare you the description I'm sure there's a youtube video or two on it. That will prepare your bbody with the muscle memory needed for instinctive direction changes.
Unless you're an athlete full time, learn some good stretching techniques for your lower body. Often times weekend warriors end up injured starting cold. The explosive movement from (especially) crouch to sprint can tear some serious muscles if you're not stretched.
Cleats (soccer perform well for speedball) can also help prevent injury.
Headcheck and snap shooting drills. Tons of vids out there for that.
These are all things you can work on without buying paint. Get these down first.
Then stock up on paint and set up a target range in your yard. Set up a couple "bunkers" to move to and from and prepare to shoot alot of paint before you can improve.
