Dan Brown Yay or Nay
I've read his 4 books, and while I did really like all of them, especially Angels and Demons, they did kind of have the similar plot that everyone always complains about...Dan Brown, like or no?

All good books, all have a lot of similarities like you said. Things lead to someone but then a twist.

NAY NAY NAY.
I've only read the Da Vinci Code but I was so disappointed by it I will never forgive him. The plot was the simplest thing ever--I knew that ***** was the one from the start. It was also just really crappily written. It got popular because he claimed it was well-researched, and it has now been shown to be totally erraneous.
But then I'm an English major, so I guess I'm looking for something different in books.

I read A&D and enjoyed it. I then picked up DVC and it felt like I was reading the same book. After finishing it I went to the bookstore to see about another one of his books. I picked up Deception Point and read the introduction, it was just like A&D and DVC and decided against reading anything else by him...

I enjoyed Angels and Demons. However, many of his books have very similar storylines to them.

Digital Fortress was honestly one of the best books I've ever read. Granted, me being a Comp. Sci. major may have something to do with it, but I really enjoyed it. I also really enjoyed A&D, the Da Vinci code was good, not great. Deception Point was also good, not great.

Eh. Da vinci code was the only one i really enjoyed. Every other book was just a poorly written thriller. its all this happened and then this and then that and this happened. Boring. The characters would find themselves in a bind and then miraculously they survived. Deception point is the perfect example of this. Numerous times in the book there is no reasonable way out of a situation. So Dan Brown wrote in the most obnoxious solution to these predicaments.

I found Angels and Demons and Da Vinci Code to be very similar. They were enjoyable reads, anything I can read and have keep me interested I find enjoyable. Sometimes it's nice to find a simple plot you can follow and just read.

He comes up with a good plot but his actual writing doesn't do anything for me.

I hate him so bad. Nothing but a two bit hack who is now a hundred millionaire. He writes with a fill-in-the-blank template.

i enjoyed angels and demons and Davinci code. The only real downside to his books are the similar plot lines though. If he could expand and try some new things he'll be great

Although I really enjoyed all of his books I will say they where simplictic. But each one made me stop and think about something like religion or the goverment.
But my favorite moment out of any of his books is in Angels and Demons when the Charmiachel(sp) gives his big speech on how science needs religion to guide it
