"Complications" by Atul Gawande
From back cover - In gripping accounts of true cases, surgeon Atul Gawande explores the power and the limits of medicine, offering an unflinching view from the scalpel's edge. Complications lays bare a science not in its idealized form but as it actually is - uncertain, perplexing, and profoundly human.

Asimov's Great Space Mysteries.
I love Asimov.
Also, just started reading the Bible again. I wish there were more used book store around here that catered to religions besides Christianity though.

That series by George R.R. Martin is good. He needs to write the final one though.

I've decided to play a fantastic new game:
Go into Barnes & Noble. Head directly for Bargain Table. Pick first 3 that seem interesting. Final total: $18 and 3 decent to really good books.
The first of this 3:
'Belle de Jour: Diary of an Unlikely Call Girl" by Anonymous.
I really enjoy it so far. Tis the memoir/blog of a London prostitute.

I haven't read either of the ones you mentioned, though I've put them on my list of books to read. I just finished 'When You Are Engulfed in Flames' and it was amazing.

I'm not currently reading, but I've got two books coming in the mail, The Man in the High Tower and Fatherland.
Both are alternate history looks at what the world may have been like if the Germans won WWII. High Tower looks mostly at the consequences for the U.S. if it were defeated and occupied while Fatherland looks at the consequences for the German society after defeated Europe, splitting ties with the Japanese (who were defeated by the U.S.), and entering a Cold War with the U.S.

I finished Snuff by Palahnuik last week. It was just...okay. Really short.
And that basement sounded disgusting.

Right now I'm about halfway through Grapes of Wrath and, after that, I will be reading Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe and Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce.
