Need to trick my headlights.. but how?
So for some reason chevy wanted to be gay and make my blazer have automatic headlights that only cut off at night if the parking break is engaged and then you start the truck. As soon as you let out the parking break the lights cut back on.... so i was wondering if there was anyway to trick this damn thing so i could cut my lights off at nights sometimes when i am just sittin around talkin to friends.
Thought maybe i could put the parkin break in just a bit.. not enough for the breaks to be on just enough to engage so my headlights wont cut on. Any other ideas?
It's a 1998 Blazer

Search your manual and fusebox for the daytime running light fuse. Then take it out.

That might work but that fuse probably controls other things as well.

I push the dome override switch on my 2002 Tahoe four times and it lets me control the lights from the switch.
I read the manual.

You should have a switch that will turn them off completely. Read the manual.
EDIT: Are you talking about the DRLs? Or the automatic headlights coming on at night? Either way, you should have a switch to turn them off.
And it would help if you posted what year blazer.

Talking about the automatic lights at night...I read the manual all it says is the mess about the parking break.. It's a 1998 blazer fixing to edit it into the first post
Also Gm_Freak.. Thats how my friend turns his off but i can sit there and push my dome override button all day and it not cut them off =/

Do you not have a switch for it? To the left of the steering wheel, somewhere near the dome override. There should be a knob that you can set to headlights, parking lights, auto or off. The switch naturally returns to the auto position, but you can turn it backwards to off and turn off all of your lights.
The 96-current pickups have this, both full-size and the S-10s. I can't imagine a Blazer being any different.
EDIT: Every 96+ GM vehicle I've ever seen with auto-headlights has this switch (top left). Does your blazer have it?

It doesn't have an off setting? Turn it backwards and it should turn them off. Or turn them to on, then turn them back to off.

So, you are complaining that you have to put the park brake on to turn off your head lights? Is it really that hard to do?

Just stop stalking the ***** and you won't have to worry about your headlights or making up lies on the internet about having friends.

Why do you need to drive with the lights off? Running from the police?

1998 Chevy Blazer S-10. Underhood fuse box, remove black DIODE, 99's may be same, 2000's are not. AUTO LIGHTS ON:: 98-2000 S-10; remove pass side speaker grill and unplug sensor, replace with a 1000 ohm resistor.

sorry smalltalker for coming on here for one time in a few months and saying i have friends.. i am sure you have alot. probably on all day. and immortality it'd just be for show mostly. i bought red parking lights or w/e and i am gonna do strobes and **** and i would maybe ride across a parking lot or something with everything on and the headlights would ruin it
