New illusions
I have been looking all over the web trying to find an illusion new. Are they still making them or are they out of business?

From what I've heard action markers is more or less gone. Please someone come in and refute my statement.
On a side note I ought my first ever pump gun at the IAO many years ago from the sction markers guys showing off the illusion. Just happened that I needed a pump gun to play with the PPIG team and they had one for the right price... I've played two IAO tournaments and two Skyball tournaments with PPIG with that gun and damn if that thing isn't still goign strong...

Action Markers is gone. They might still be doing some things under the AM name, but I doubt it's business. Can't get a reply from Little Steve on the subject. I think they still do spare parts from inventory, but I don't think they're making anything anymore.
I'm interested in how much you paid for that Illusion! Last I checked they were hardly in an ideal price-range! But worth every penny, don't get me wrong. I've just never heard the Illusion referred to as being at "the right price."

got mine for a great deal, (trade value of around $100 for it).
action markers is long gone, their remaining stock was purchased by APE Online - who promptly made many deals and followed through on about half until he disappeared off most pb forums entirely. (I have a feeling he was pretty overwhelmed with the demand for AM product, among other life issues.)
good luck finding an illusion, they're rather rare already.

Your best two bets are www.stockclasspaintball.com and www.mcarterbrown.com
I hate to say it, but you might be happier with a Sniper. They are easier to find parts for, more parts available, easier to tune, etc.
Most people aren't willing to part with them. (if that tells you anything)

Illusions are superior in most aspects to Snipers, but due to their rarity, and no supply of replacement or upgrade parts (if they ever needed any upgrade), snipers are a better choice for the average player.
the bolt, hammer, and valve are unique in the Illusion. I use a custom valve in mine (a palmers LT valve inside a devolumized sleeve), a modified hammer and bolt, and special springs for extremely light cocking and superb LP performance with the best consistancy. for a pro tuned project marker, the illusion has no equal ive yet to behold, this gun makes the best CCMs look rough around the edges and hard sprung.
